Bradley + Bass + Picks for DMC + Garcia(?)

I like the idea but I think it takes more to get DMC. I think we'd have to package Sullinger (after he makes a very good debut with the Celtics). Maybe Sully/Bradley for DMC? I think to make the $ work we'd have to throw in KuJo but I'd be willing to do that to build around a young PG/Center combo like Rondo and DMC. Rondo, Lee, Green, Bass and DMC...is a really nice looking future. We could probably upgrade from Bass in the coming years too for a more athletic front court.

I think DMC is a great target and if Sacramento is even remotely willing to talk we should throw the kitchen sink at them. Everything short of Rondo should be on the table.

Bradley + Bass for Harden + filler!  or
Bradley + Bass + Picks for DMC + Garcia(?)
 ;D

God no!!  Harden can't defend to save his life, and his offense is inconsistent (he dissapeared completely against Miami in the finals).

Bradley is a consistently elite defender with the potential to be a very solid scorer, and I'd take that over Harden anyday.

As for the original question, I think there's a pretty decent chance of a trade.

We have made a lot of changes / additions this season, and it's going to take time to see exactly how all of those pieces work together - who pulls their weight, who fits into the team and who doesn't, etc.

For example, lets say by midseason:

1. Sullinger is giving us Bass-like scoring numbers but superior rebounding (say 14/9) on a rookie contact

2. Green proves he can be effective at the PF spot by exploiting mismatches

3. Wilcox continues on from where he left off last season with his energy levels

If all this is true, then Bass' 6M per year may seem like a very expensive redundancy.

Now lets say Fab surprises us and learns quick, proving to be a surprisingly solid backup for KG at the center spot...Darko may also become redundant.

Wouldn't surprise me at all to see Ainge offer Bass,  Darko and picks to a team that's in desperate need for usable size in return for say...a solid legit PG.

That's just one possibility, but it all depends I think on how out team works together.  Doc may find but the 'deep' idea doesn't work as well as expected and may find he wants the team to be a little more top heavy - he may persuade Danny to trade off some of their depth (say Bradley + Bass) in retun for an All-Star (or borerline All-Star) starting PF or SG...or even for a very solid Center (and then move KG to PF).

I think Doc and Ainge love this team right now, but you have to look at the contract situation.  We have about $26M tied up in role players (Terry, Lee, Green and Bass. Every one of those guys is price tag that will fit nicely into trade talks, and with so much depth I'd imagine the 'tradabilitiy' of those guys is part of the backup plan in case things don't work out as planned.

Hell Boston's roster right now is like a flea market just waiting for customers - every player on that roster is a potential commodity that could be hotly desired by a team with the right needs.  Even the big men (Collins and Milicic) for their size and interior D alone have a certain amount of value attached for a team that has needs in those areas.
