We almost won the series with Ray on one leg and no Wilcox or Green and Bradley.   Have some faith in green?

Not to mention:

Paul Pierce was injured.

Pietrus had a concussion.

Hell, Stiemsma was injured.

We had Bass, KG, Rondo, Keyon Dooling...

I suppose if you count Ryan Hollins that's 5 guys, enough for a basketball game  ::).

I posted this before but didn't elaborate. Notice how Rondo's assists went from a variety of looks (AB, Ray Allen, Pierce, KG, Bass, Pietrus) to just Bass and KG in just that one series.

Game 1

Game 3 (AB got injured that game I believe)

Game 7

Game 1 and Game 7 just contrast each other so much.

I don't think we'll destroy the Heat.

If Dwayne Wade comes back healthy next season, it will be even MORE crucial for BOS to get Avery Bradley back healthy.

That's why - out of ALL of our recent acquisitions - Avery Bradley's health, to me - is MOST IMPORTANT.

I'm not even concerned about LeBron, but Dwayne Wade, to me, is the most important factor to MIA repeating. Sure - he is on the decline, but if he comes back healthy he is easily a top 5-10 player in the league.

I don't care if Doc and Danny leaves AB out until April 2013 for all I care, lol - but the man MUST get healthy for him to be of any use to us vs MIA or CHI. AB will limit - not stop - but limit Dwayne Wade and Derrick Rose, if healthy. This will, IMO, be the single reason we get by either MIA or CHI.

Oh - and I almost forgot to mention - KG will need to repeat his time machine-like performance, and Rondo will once again have to be PLAYOFF RONDO for us to beat MIA.

But it's doable.

Destroy MIA? I'd LOVE for it to happen. But I'd be happy with a demoralizing Game 7 loss by MIA in June 2013 by 20 points.

Im guessing you mean you would be happy with Miami losing to us by 20 in game 7 next June. Id be happy if Mia lost to us by say 8. In the 50's and 60's, the Celtics had to win game 7, barely, 8 times to win a title, so there is no shame in that.

Both rosters healthy and we beat their butt...oh wait...like Wade said, this didn't count. 'cos April Fools.

And the 3 games we won in the playoffs didn't count. 'cos their injuries were more important.

We did not really take them to 7 games because, as mentioned, their injuries were more important and our injuries are dumb.

Every close game we had shouldn't have been so because, again, their injuries. We should have been blown out of the building.

Once we discount all of the times the Heat lost against us and the times we took them down to the wire, we stand no chance against them as they demolished us every time we met.

Dang...might as well just call the Heat the Eastern Conference Champions again.

And they were missing their all star PF who played injured and rusty when he came back. Also had 90 year old Mike Miller hobbling around the court. Miami got better this offseason, we did too. It will be a fantastic matchup if both teams stay healthy this season.

Come opening night, everybody's healthy (well, except Bradley) so there'll be no excuses whoever wins..

I really....really can't wait till Lebron turns 31 like Wade. So he would finally have to rely on his fundamental skills instead of his athleticism
Lol he'd be average, unless roids play a part
I don't know.  I bet he could lose half of his athleticsm and still be Karl Malone.  Lebron's game is constantly evolving.  He'll stay great for a very long time.

I admire your optimism! :)

But depth is not as important as having the best 2-3 players on the court, and the Heat have that against pretty much any opponent.

They aren't unbeatable, but nobody is going to "DESTROY" them, in my opinion.
We need not to be let alone. We need to be really bothered once in a while. How long is it since you were really bothered? About something important, about something real?

You do realize that your taking a dump on an NBA legend when you say that?!

I just don't even know where to begin with this topic. No, they will not DESTROY the Heat.

I think somebody already did!

If thats not destruction i dont know what is.

Lowest score of the season for miami! (exept for the 2 games at the end of season when some players rested for the playoffs)

In fact its the lowest points total since james joined the team!

A couple points I'd like to make.

1.) To say the Celtics will "DESTROY" the Heat is borderline laughable. There was a time when Wade and Lebron were the Celtics whipping boys, but those days are over.

Lebron has clearly improved as a player over the last 2 years and is the best player in the NBA

2.) I don't see how the Celtics are going to DESTROY the Heat without enough depth at the 4/5 position. I think right now Bosh, Joel Anthony, Rashard Lewis are equal to KG, Wilcox and Sullinger/Jeff Green in rebounding.

3.) I am seeing alot of people here make the injury excuse. Least we forget, the Heat were missing Bosh for most of the series last May. Also, I am not convinced that Wade was 100% either. Injuries ARE PART OF THE GAME.

If injuries are going to be such a problem every year, it's up to Danny Ainge to acquire the proper depth.

As for the Celtics/Heat comparison, I think right now the Heat are the better team (though not by much.) Hopefully in June of 2013, I'll be saying otherwise.

The heat start and ends with lebron. You could pretty much substitute all of their players for whoever and they'd still be a top in the league. Just look at all those cavs teams lebron played for.

The Cavs teammates when Lebron was there had 3 point snipers, great rebounders, and all players were good defensively.. Don't let the media ruin your thinking

I didn't mean it as a dig at those Cavs teams.

Just saying we didn't think those Cavs teams were unstoppable and they were probably better than these Heat teams.

The Heat having Wade, Bosh, Ray doesn't really scare me much more than those Cavs teams because its all about Lebron.

I think Wade has just gone downhill the past couple years. Id certainly take Rondo over him and maybe even Pierce and KG even at their age. Not to mention KG and Pierces longevity will certainly surpass wades
Please pass me whatever you are smoking.  Thank You.

Well they won more games and played better defense and offense. Arguably theybwere better teams. Of course you can point to the championship last year but im pretty sure the Cavs were good enough to win championships despite what the media spewed. The main difference was Lebron taking over and playing like an mvp in the playoffs it wasn't because of his new teammates.

Not to mention the East has been weaker the past couple years as well
