I would trade Bass and Bradley and a pick for Gortat.
Rondo, Lee, Pierce, KG, and Gortat and the bench we have that would make for another banner.

That is a very interesting idea. Frees up that overloaded backcourt.

I think the Celtics need the backcourt depth. More and more teams are rolling out 3 guard offenses, small ball lineups, and lineups with large SFs playing PF. I think the Celtics, in order to match up with those teams, need the depth.

That said, I like the trade idea.

The Suns likely will not make that trade.

I feel like for the remainder of his career, KG will be playing center. He's more effective there at his current age.

What we need to really go after is a more legit PF, like Smith or Love.

Bass, Bradley, and picks for Smith
Bass, Bradley, Sullinger, and picks for Love

Probably not right now.

Maybe my mid-season when Gortat's numbers take a dip without Nash around to create all those high percentage shot attempts for him ... maybe they'd look to move Gortat then.

To many other teams (Houston) looking for a C to go that cheap.

What do expect Phoenix to get in return for Gortat? If they decided to trade him.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
The way Gortat blossomed with Nash and he's playing without him right now, this is a big risk. I'm not sure if PHX will do this eitherway. The way I see it, Gortat with Dragic can still be a 15-17pts / 7-9 rebounds guy.

You know who we should get that is underrated, Jason Smith. I'll trade Bass for him right away.

gortat will average the same as he did last year

dragic stats will go higher, expect around 16 ppg 9-10 assists per game from Dragic

Nash is overated by the masses

watch how pheonix is the same caliber team with dragic, you will see dragic assists go up

Yeah, I think I was off-base and you are right -- Gortat's stats should stay constant enough without Nash.

I put too much onus on Nash's playmaking and not enough importance given to Phoenix's offensive system + their current lack of shot-takers. Gortat should still get good offensive opportunities in that offense and Dragic is good enough to spoon-feed him.

Plus, their lack of scorers should ensure Gortat keeps his 11-12 shot attempts a game. The only thing I could see getting in Gortat's way is Michael Beasley eating too many shot attempts and stifling ball-movement with his ball-happy ways.

Gortat should be able to maintain his numbers in Phoenix next year. Probably see a slight dip in his scoring numbers but they'll be close enough. Say 14pp and 10rpg.

As for Dragic, I am expecting Dragic to be closer to 7-8apg with 16-18ppg.
