Danny is a genius and I think he saw the d12 trade happening before anyone.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here.

  • Everyone's excited for the new era.
Despite what many think, I see Collins as a major role player for us.  WIlcox is probably our first big off the bench.  During the regular season, I can see Doc giving Sully more minutes than Collins, but come playoff time, Doc likes to go with vets, and there's no one in the league better at stopping Dwight Howard than the "Dwight-Stopper!"

He's supposed to be our Dwight stopper, supposedly. But I don't really buy into it. He's at least 5 fouls for hack-a-Dwight.
Practice? Whatchu talkin about practice?

Well, Jason Collins would've been an asset if Dwight ended up in Brooklyn too, or anywhere else.  Or against centers like Hibbert and Lopez.

Preparing for the Lakers now seems a bit on the drastic side.  We have the HEAT to contend with.  They have the Thunder and Spurs.

Let's try to win the East first please?

A quote from an article about the 2011 series between the Hawks and Magic:

Quote
Jason Collins drew charges, forced 3 second violations, bodied Dwight up so that others could strip him, and basically turned Dwight into less than even what his teammates offered. However, Jason only lasted 18 minutes. Unfortunately for the Hawks, they can't match Jason up on Dwight for the entire game, since Dwight is still able to target Jason frequently and put a high number of fouls on him.

All this said, if the Hawks could play Jason Collins the entire game, I'd expect the Hawks to be favorites in the series. Dropping Dwight's efficiency to less than a point per possession while still single-covering his teammates is incredible.

Not only this... we won't need him for even 18mins if everyone is healthy! I see Collins doing more of the same on a guy we will now play many times, Bynum!

When I say I am not worried that we can beat any team, I mean it! Do I look at some teams and say they will be tougher, sure... but in 7 games we can take 4 from ANY TEAM!!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Another thought: this probably means we'll see a lot of this lineup:

Rondo, Bradley, Pierce, Garnett, Collins
against
Nash, Kobe, MWP, Gasol, Howard

How does KG match up against Gasol?

L M A O @ all the celtics fans putting the celtics in the finals against the lakers and COMPLETELY forgetting about the teams they have to beat to even potentially meet up!! Miami? OKC? Yeah those teams are pretty good.

what's wrong with speculating? whatever the fans discuss has no effect on the games itself

That's not the point. I can't believe you guys are getting so bent out of shape about this. Miami is still the favorite in the east and OKC IS still the favorite in the west. Until the celtics and lakers both reach the finals none of this even matters!

You failed hard at your reading comprehension right there. I was clearly talking about the lakers having to beat OKC and us having to beat the heat before this howard thing even becomes an issue. Until then im far more concerned about getting pass the heat. Something we have yet to prove we can do.

It's really not bent out of shape to say we signed a guy for the veteran's minimum in case we had to go through Bynum or Howard to win a championship. It's just thinking ahead by Danny.

The vet min for that insurance is a great move in my book.

Fair enough, i hope we get a lakers celtics rematch.
