10-15PPG? Not a chance this year.

10-15MPG? Very likely. If Melo continues to work hard and show the willingness to improve on every aspect of his game, he should be getting that much time off the bench.

Doc doesn't learn the names of the rookies until February or March.  He'll be lucky if Doc recognizes him in the locker room.

I'm from Maine and I plan on seeing a lot of Fab Melo in Portland this season. Doc doesn't play guys that cant play defense so I doubt he makes the 12 man active roster. Wilcox and Collins will give the Celtics more than Melo this year.

Chris mannix in an interview was saying he could see Melo getting those minutes come play off time. Basically give them 10-15 good solid defense and make some plays

Not that he or any other NBA analyst really knows much more than we all do. He might as well just be some random cblog poster (no offense)_

He will get the same opportunity JJJ got last year . And from there its hi job to win or lose minutes . Remember JJJ played great in one game and then ruined it by playing horrible in other games (remember the game in toronto where Doc flipped ?) Let's just hope he can impress !

it wont take 3 years for someone to develop. some people are crazy and dont think. 3 years is an eternity in basketball.

the steamer was a rookie and averaged 13:54 minutes a game with doc, and that is with injuries that lowered his playing time.

other rookies...
rondo played 23:30 mpg
big baby played13:35 mpg
tony allen played 16:23
delonte west played 13:00

so obviously doc will play someone he thinks can help, rookie or not. but melo is so raw he will probably wind up like perk, under 5 minutes a game in the nba. but probably a lot of minutes in the D league. which is fine with me.

but honestly, i thought melo was a stiff when the celtics drafted him. but in the summer league he showed he MIGHT be able to be a decent nba center. but he needs a lot of work, which is why they have the D league.

now sullinger i think will play at least 15 minutes a game by the end of the season.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
