by my quick count, C’s have 22 back-to-backs this season, a whopping 18 of which close on the road.

Is it me or it sounds like too much?

It seems like a lot. However, given our depth I would love to see the Pop approach and have 11 games off for both KG and Pierce.

Ridiculous. More proof that Stern hates Boston.

We shouldn't jump into conclusion right now. How about the Lakers, Heat, OKC? how many back to back do they have?

that's hilarious, those were the first three teams i looked up, in that exact order.  i posted it near the top plus chi $ SA.  Enjoy!  It doesn't taste good!

  • GOT IT!!!
the lakers have 16. the heat have 13. the thunder have 15. the spurs have 17, the bulls have 19.  those are the teams I looked up.

we have 40% more back to backs than the media darling teams and 15-25% more than the other contenders.

yeah, i'd say we got screwed.

Pretty ridiculous. It won't matter though, C's reloaded very nicely.

ridiculous... maybe Stern figured that since the Pats have the easiest NFL schedule he could get away with making the Celtics's the hardest...

On the bright side at least we're younger and deeper than we used to be

I'm wondering if, due to geographical constraints on travel, teams in the northeast get more B2Bs than teams in the rest of the country.

I'm too lazy to look it up or crunch numbers, though.

I doubt Stern has any real input to who plays when other than Opening Night/Holiday (and obviously the Finals haha).

But as for our B2B's, the second nights are against:
@WAS
@MIL
@BKN (short flight from Boston)
@DET
@MIL
vsPHI (home and home)
@SAS (short flight from Houston)
vsCLE
@SAC
@ATL
@ATL
vsLAL
@CHA
@LAL
@UTA
@IND
vsTOR
@MEM
@CLE
@MIN
@ORL (short trip from Miami)
@TOR

Overall, way too overloaded with finishing them on the road (18 to 4), but the teams aren't that good for the most part. Sucks having to play the Lakers both times on the second night of a B2B, but that usually happens to us against them.

On the plus side, we don't have very many road trips, I believe only four 3+ road trips (one 4-game and one 5-game). I believe we only have one 4-games-in-5-nights.

I think our depth with overcome this schedule. I don't know if Doc can convince competitors like KG and Pierce into DNP-CD's, but easing up on their minutes shouldn't be too much of a problem like in years past.

Looking forward to training camp in about 2 months.

I have to hope that there are a equal number of stretches without games. Looks like a couple of 2-3 day stretches without games; but nothing to compensate for 22 back to backs.

More back-to-backs means, by definition, more times with an extra day in between games.

Besides, let's not start making excuses.  We aren't even THAT old a team anymore.  Pierce and KG need their minutes kept in check, but the only other old player on the roster is JET (whose minutes will be kept in check naturally by the presence of Lee).

TP for doing the math on some of the other teams.  Yup, that is a lot of back to backs, I wonder if it leads the league.

ouch, good thing Danny has put together a rather young team this year. The past 2-3 season hasn't been kind in terms of schedules and injuries

Both times we play the Lakers this season is on the end of a back to back. I think we, as Celtics fans, should be used to getting screwed over.

I've always found it funny the word "CELTICS" is backwards on the front of Ray's jersey in his sig.

Omen perhaps?
