Not sure, from Manchester, if this is out: Just heard Andray Blatche has cleared waivers after amnesty by Wiz. Unrestricted free agent now

- Per Marc Stein's Twitter Page

Sign him at the vet's min, and call it a day.

Brace Boy!

is he the best big out there when you're looking at guys like Fesenko, Darko etc? It gets pretty bad we might have to settle on him

Good god no! He's a knuckle head and would be a locker room cancer.  There is a good reason no team put in a amnesty bid.  He'd be p---ed about taking the minimum, Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. about minutes and annoy his teammates.  KG hates him, keep him as far away as we can from the Celtics and even the NBA!

I think Wilcox fills the athletic, offense-oriented 4/5 role for this team well enough - not the ball-handler Blatche is, but a better finisher, and a better head on his shoulders.

Blatche would definitely be intriguing, but I think I'd rather have a defensive big man with Melo still so raw.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Is green the color of the Maryland Correctional Facility uses for inmates? If so, I agree....

No news except for an idea for NY to get Blatche. With their ginormous payroll and chaos in the front office, I think we're front runners for Blatche. Would be a great summer.

Who cares about his attitude?  If there is any team that can handle bad attitudes its Boston.  Sign him to a 1 year .contract for BA (which is basically vet min anyway) and if he's that big a problem cut him before the deadline.

His game is infinitely more suitable for us then Darko's, and he has the versatility to play PF or C.  Plus on the attitude - do you really think Darko's attitude is any better?

If he doesn't pan out bench him. It's a low risk move if he doesn't work out and a massive  payoff if he does.

This is opposed to the rest of the centers available who's worse case scenario and best case scenario are the same - nothing.

Who knows...playing for a respected coach in a respected organisation, surrounded by veterans and with the potentiometer to be a big part of the future...it could bring a change of attitude.

Hell even Ryan Hollins was productive and hard working in our system - anything is possible!

Get him to pick Ryan Hollins/Sean Williams spot for the vet min? Please, Danny, get it done.

I think Danny wouldn't send JJJ out without a backup plan. Saunders knows Blatche, if he's worth it they'll go after him.

Try to get Pietrus for his non-bird raise, ink Blatche for the min, and sign Dooling for the right money, given his 3rd string condition and the luxury tax limit.

If Blatche bring his focus and effort, you can start him alongside KG or as his backup. If it doesn't work out, cut him if you need to. Perfect move.

The projects that Boston always somehow make use of (e.g. Hollins, Stiemsma) all have one thing in common: they are hard workers. Hollins is a hard worker but he just needed guidance on the court because he has a relatively low BBIQ. Blatche's problem is his work ethic, which one needs if he wants to be mentored by KG.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Get this guy on the BAE right now.
Back up center at worst, could flourish with KG and Rondo around him for attitude and easy looks/buckets for confidence.
Do it now Danny.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
