The Brooklyn Nets select Serge Ibaka and Kenneth Faried.
That's an athletic team right there. undersized, but athletic.
I think Ibaka at 6'10 240 of solid muscle is big enough to guard pretty much all of the centers in the league.
I don't think Ibaka is ready to play the center position full-time yet.
He doesn't fare well enough, in man-to-man defense, against bigger centers. I also like him more as a roamer playing off another big man with legit size (PF or C) as a team defender rather than the sole big and defensive anchor (Faried is too small and vulnerable defensively).
Give him another couple of years and hopefully that will change ... but for now, I think Ibaka is a much more effective player at power forward than center.
He just hasn't figured out how to be effective there yet. How best to play against guys bigger than him. Gets overpowered too often.
