Where's Dooling?

I would really like to have him back.  Did he sign with another team yet?  Has anyone heard if the Celtics are interested in bringing him back?  I haven't heard anything about him.  Thanks.

I don't think he's signed anywhere else (we would have heard about it here).  Wouldn't MIND seeing him back, but he certainly isn't a priority.  If Terry and Avery Bradley can act as backup point guards, there won't be much playing time available for him, and if they believe Moore is worth keeping around there may not be a roster spot available.  I'm sure they're looking to fill the SG spot and maybe bring in another big man before they make a decision on Dooling.  He's probably a vet-minimum guy at this point, anyway.

He finally played decent during the playoffs and towards end of season.  But holy brickhouse batman,  the dude couldn't hit a shot to save his life.  He was horrible for 3/4 quarters of the season.  If he could play decent basketball like he was at the end of the season , he'd be an asset.

I'm inclined to go with Moore over Dooling.  Moore seems to be improving , slowly but surely.  By the seasons end I think Moore would be handsdown the better player (over Dooling).

only way he comes back is if they don't keep moore...can't see them signing a SG, keeping moore and dooling

It's unfortunate for Dooling that he's basically waiting to either be trade bait or resigned. Only reason I think he might be cool with it is getting a better pay dat if used in a trade. Otherwise he gets the vet min for sure

I agree with this.  Moore is improving and will keep doing so with a solid training camp underneath him.  He hasn't been too bad at all in the summer league games (I know, I know...Summer League), but I really think that a full camp will get him headed in the right direction.

I get the feeling Dooling is headed the way of Scals, Stackhouse, and others: His career's winding down, but he clearly wants to get involved with coaching after he can't crack it on the floor.

Do we have a roster spot for a dude like that?

I don't see the Celtics keeping all 5.




I do see Dooling, who showed up in the playoffs, back at the vet min.

If we assume that Danny keeps Moore and Johnson, I'd be interested in Dooling, but more interested in Pietrus given his ability to play the 2 and 3 and help out on the likes of LeBron, Carmelo, and Durant.  

If Danny doesn't elect to keep Moore, I'd certainly be very interested in Dooling and Pietrus.

I'm excited for that. I'm from Portland, so I always dig it when dudes put in Red Claws time.

Probably being dangled in Sign and Trade Scenarios - I just don't think we have the assets to acquire Courtney Lee for the salary he deserves.

I started to like Keyon Dooling late in the season and would welcome him back for another opportunity next season.

I am surprised that Danny hasn't already locked Dooling up on a minimum contract.

No need for Dooling to be anything more than a third string PG with Rondo, Terry and Bradley here. I could understand the hesitation if talking about Dooling as the primary backup PG ... but I don't understand why there is any hesitation about bringing him back as an insurance policy / energy guy / locker room presence type of third string PG.
