Straight from rotoworld.com

"Ray Allen placed an ad in the Sunday edition of the Boston Globe, thanking Celtics fans and expressing his love for the community.
This was a classy move by Allen, who recently drew some ire for signing with the Heat."

Does anyone know what the ad exactly said? Regardless, very classy move by Allen.

Doesn't change anything.

Allusions to profanity aren't appropriate under any circumstances.

I agree.  All the unattributed whisperings to the press last season against Doc starting Bradley and Danny doing his job speak louder than any public thanks with his signature at this point.

Here it is:

It is absolutely a hollow gesture. Actions speak louder than words.

I can't blame Ray for leaving, although I hate it.  I appreciate what he did here.  Sure, the ad is PR, but whatever, it's more than some players do.

Isn't it possible for Ray to be appreciative of the fans while still resenting the way he feels the team treated him?  We can sometimes confuse the organization with the fan base but I doubt the players do.

Nice gesture by Ray.

I hope he made Miami pay for the ad. It was fairly classy, he might not like the players, coaches or GM but I'm sure he liked the fans.

Not worth the paper it's printed on. Actions speaking louder than words, etc.

Thank you. I'm not happy that Ray's gone AT ALL. And I hate the team he's gone too.

But he wasn't mad our unhappy with the fans. He had another job offer that he felt was better for him and took it. The NBA is his JOB not his FAMILY. People need to get over the hate.

Personally I'm grateful for what Ray did in his time in Boston.  It's sad that he went to one of our biggest rivals but it is what it is.  I get the sense that his time in Boston was meaningful for him and he won a Championship here.  His fans supported him so it's nice that he threw them back some love in the form of this ad.

Yes, and the actions of the Miami Heat won him over. He'll do well there.

I hope he won't against us, but he will.
