Mayo easily. I think we're looking for a starter while Bradley's out and Lee isn't starter.
But, the part about "while Bradley's out" implies we're looking for a
temporary starter, doesn't it? I mean, what's supposed to happen when Bradley comes back?
If people can get behind Jeff Green I don't see why they can't get behind Mayo.
It's just a bad fit. Mayo's ego is a problem. He thinks he's better than he is, and he thinks he's a point guard. He doesn't always play hard.
Jeff Green seems like a humble, hard-working young man. His production hasn't justified the contract he's apparently been given, but the big contract is hardly his fault. What's he going to say, "no"?
Also, Paul Pierce is, like, 61 years old. We're
hoping Green is the SF of the future. We're not looking for a guard of the future. Rondo is still young, and he and Bradley are the backcourt of the future.
I also think it's all moot, because I think some team (Phoenix?) will offer Mayo more than the MLE. I don't think we have any chance of getting him, even if we wanted him.
If I'm wrong, and we can get him, and we do get him, of course I'll get behind him and root for him. But I just think Courtney Lee would work out better for what this team needs and how this team works.
