Clips and Nets have only the vet min.

Celtics have the bi-annual.
Is he worth that?

I wonder the same thing

I wonder what people think we're going to get for the
bi-annual.

Beats Stiemsma  ;)

I'm not so sure on clubhouse reasons alone.  Minny apparently doesn't think so.

That's a bit inflammatory. By all accounts, he was amnestied so Minny go pursue Batum, I haven't heard anything about him being a locker room issue.

I would prefer Stiemsma over Darko. But if we can't get Steamer back, Darko is absolutely no. 2 on my list. But there was a reason he got in Adelman's dog house.  Adelman said that Darko lacked motivation and let himself get out of shape.

Quote
"He hasn't done anything to really give you a lot of faith that he's going to go out and do the job," Adelman said of Milicic. "He's gotten himself out of shape. He hasn't been as driven as you'd like so when a situation like this happens, it's time for someone to have their opportunity and get back in there. Today, [Williams] going to get his chance and Anthony Randolph is going to get his chance and we'll see if any of those guys can step up."
From Star Tribune, March 22nd.

I wouldn't want to put in max effort (prime years) on a team like that either! I'd still take Darko, this is a different/better situation.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

For the money I'd take the risk on Darko.  He was the 2nd pick apparently for a reason.  I think he needs to be in a system where he can do what he does well.

Much rather keep Stiemsma then get Darko, but if Minnesota offers more to Stiemsma...

Darko - BAE > Stiemsma - 3 to 4 million that Minnesota was reportedly around.

How many years do we have to observe Darko before we finally agree that the guy isn't NAB timbre?  Last season, he could convert barely half his LAYUP attempts, made only a third of his close shots, and didn't hit a single shot outside of 10 feet.

Steamer looks like Bob McAdoo offensively compared to Darko.  Also, Steamer blocks shots at nearly twice the rate of Darko.  I'd rather play Melo any minutes that Darko would ruin as a Celtic.  Stay away, Danny.

I joked with some friends that Boston would sign Darko and have KG taunt and rile him up for a good half hour before each game, until he goes absolutely nuts. Watch out NBA!

Pass on Darko.

He was the human victory cigar during the Piston's run in the early 2000s.

Steamer, Wilcox, Melo would all be a better choice.

Darko has been in the league almost 10 years, I saw him most when he was playing for the Pistons when he still had a huge upside. I don't want to watch a whole year of him in green.

Frontrunners for free agent center Darko Milicic are Boston, Brooklyn and LA Clippers, league source tells Y! Sports.

If, Danny Ainge can't sell players such as Darko, Lee or Mayo, on coming to the most successful NBA basketball team and franchise in sports, then Ainge, has issues. The reality is the Celtics need a guys like Darko, Lee or Mayo with NBA experience if they plan on making a serious run.

Well, it"s obvious the C's need those types of players......... but it's not about Danny having issues if he can't get them.  They could, for example, want more money than Boston can give them.  Or, they might want to play in a particular city. Or, they might be looking for more years than the C's are willing to give.
We all think we know more than we really do....

Darko was at least 25lbs overweight last season. Needs to get back down to around 240-245lbs.

Yeah, he wasn't good last year.

I'd still be pleased to have him since my assumption is that Stiemsma is eventually going to get offered a deal beating the BAE by Minnesota after the Batum match.

yeah makes you think twice forgot Minny is going after Steamer and did dump Darko

KAHNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah no kidding.... Kahn is the worst. If he dumped Darko (in part b/c they over-promised FA money) and signs Stiemsma, I almost wonder if that doesnt' say something positive about Milicic.

That said, I'd much rather have Stiemsma and have little interest in Milicic... would rather bring back Hollins or Sean Williams.
