It might just be cap hoopla where delaying his signing allows the C's to get some other things done. I'm pretty sure Green and the C's agreed to the deal weeks ago.

Maybe the loading of the contract will depend on how much money they've got available this year or something like that.

What was the purpose of this press conference?

"Hey everybody, here are the guys we already told you we had agreed to deals with! They're really excited to be Celtics!  No, the deals aren't finalized. No, we can't give you detailed figures.  No, we haven't completed any sign-and-trades.  No, we still don't want to talk about Ray."

I still can't get sound to work for the press conference but is ^that^ the gist of it?

Why didn't they just wait until they actually make the moves to officially announce them? I mean, we all already knew about this stuff anyways.

Asked about 6th man or starting, JET said the PC thing, that he would play any role Doc wants him to.  He always admired the Celtics approach.

Green said the support the C's organization played during his procedure and recovery played a huge role in him wanting to come back to the team.

Bass said there were "other offers" but quickly brushed that aside and said he always wanted to stay with the team.

Wilcox talked about watching the playoff games and feeling frustrated that he could not be out on the floor helping the team...pointed to Game 7 Miami series where he felt he could have made a difference and helped the team advance to the Finals.

Yeah, i just wanted to see jet hold up his jersey and i didn't even get to see that :(
