Shouldn't this thread be title "Be realistic about Rondo's TS%"? Or do you somehow think that scoring efficiency is the only realistic way to judge players?
I think it is the best and most related to the effect of winning games over a long haul. Every team that won every series this year won the TS% for the series.
You look at TS% and Offensive boards and it will tell you the winner of almost every game played.
Also this mostly was spurred by the fact I have read at least 5 threads in the past month that INSIST rondo can score when he wants to. Maybe I should have simply responded in the rondo is going to win MVP next year because he has proven that he can do whatever he wants on a basketball court. But it felt like it may be better to open a new topic and see where it goes.
No surprise you wouldnt like the information.
Why was the team more efficient with him out? Why is a player who is finding his jumper and scoring ability over the past couple seasons becoming less efficient?
I do not think rondo is a bad player at all. Quite the opposite. I just think that all of the people on this board who compare him to Isiah Thomas or insist he is the 6th best player in the nba currently or continue to insist that he has proven he can score when he wants are ignoring some very real facts.
If he is ever going to find a spike in efficiency it is most likely going to come with even shot distribution not when he has to take more shots bc Ray is gone or some other reason.
