In an interview with Yahoo! Sports, (Kevin) Love urged Minnesota’s management to acquire the necessary talent to make the franchise a contender. If the Timberwolves don’t start winning this season, Love isn’t sure how long he’ll want to be a part of Minnesota’s future.

“My patience is not high,” Love said. “Would yours be, especially when I’m a big proponent of greatness surrounding itself with greatness? All these [Team USA] guys seem to have great players around them.

“It’s tough seeing all these guys that are young and older who have all played in the playoffs. When they start talking about that, I have nothing to talk about. If I don’t make the playoffs next year I don’t know what will happen.”

Now that's someone I would LOVE the c's to land if he ever got to free agency.

If Sullinger is the real deal(15/8 potential) , would you trade Sullinger,Bradley and Green for Love ?

Yes. In a heartbeat. Not too many guys are better than Love and he's only 23. LBJ is in a tier of his own; Durant, CP3, Dwight and maybe still Kobe make up their own tier; beyond that, I wouldn't hesitate to put Love on the same level as guys like Rose, Dirk, Wade, Carmelo, etc.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

I hate that. He just signed a contract extension less than a year ago. If you feel that way, don't sign the contract or at least don't sign as long of a deal.

Whiny little so-and-so.

Cosign. Hard to know the context, plus they were playing well pre-Rubio injury. Notice they always wait until after their extension before talking like this. Never want the GM using winning as leverage on them

Probably a fueled by feeling slighted when they refused to offer him their "designated player" contract.

I do agree that its pretty shady to sign a contract extension and then take a shot at the organization so soon afterwards.

Minnesota would have probably gotten the 8th seed last season if not for injuries. Good chance they'll right that next season and they push further on if they address that wing situation.

I think they'll be able to put this to bed fairly quickly ... but that that will only be a temporary fix. The real question is how will they / when will they / can they take the next steps and become a team capable of winning a playoff series to an outside contender to a legitimate title contender.

Because when they fail to meet one of those targets, Kevin Love will jump ship. He is clearly the type of person (the type who'll jump early and refuse to give his team a lengthily opportunity to build around him).

I get that he wants the team to advance from where they are but I'm still surprised by this.  It seems to me that the Wolves have been trying to add some decent talent to their squad this offseason.  They've got Rubio on board, signed Brandon Roy (low risk, high reward), and have thrown an offer at Batum who showed tremendous promise last season.  Randolph still has a lot to prove but there's no doubting his raw talent.  I think the wolves future looks bright.  I guess I can't hate on a guy for wanting to win though...

He will also come back as a stronger leader after Team USA this summer, the improvement all those guys showed after the FIBA games was great but this could push them even further.

Rubio and Love are a great duo, they have young pieces that can improve together.

If your read is right then giving him an opt out after his third year is going to gut the franchise.

I hope he doesn't want to play for his hometown Lakers.
Signed to a 6 year $0 contract with the Celtics Blog forum!

Oh god, we are so close to being done with the Howard trade talk...I'm not looking forward to hearing about another unhappy superstar.

You watch, I'm sure Howard and Love somehow end up in LA for a bag of basketballs.

Not very professional, but you can understand his frustration as a competitor - many of his star peers are joining forces.  He doesn't want to get left behind.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler
