I'd like to get Lee too, but as to S&ting JJJ, I don't know why Houston would want him.  They have a boatload of young PFs on their squad already, unless they're planning on moving some of them.
Houston still thinking they are getting Dwight Howard still
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

How about a double sign and trade?

Rockets sign and trade Lee (2.5) and Camby (4)

Celtics trade Krstic (5) and JaJuan Johnson(1)

Guesses on the numbers, but I'd do this.

Dooling, Moore and the Charlotte pick in a sign and trade would be my guess.

Better shooter and ball-handler than Pietrus but doesn't have his size/strength on defense and the boards.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

It would have to be dooling. He could e sign and traded, packaged with one or two of our rookie scale guys, some picks, and some cash.

All assets the rockets need. And they need a pg.

Can't S&T Krstic because he wasn't on the roster at the end of last season.

Would love Courtney Lee on this team. Always loved his game.

Swapping any of our lesser role players for him would be a steal IMO.

I'd take Lee over Pietrus every time.

Would love to see the Celtics sign Courtney Lee.

My question is: how?

Celtics trade:  Dooling ($2.5m S&T), Williams ($0.9m), Moore ($0.8m) = $4.2m, $3m cash

Something like that would allow us to give Lee a salary starting around $5.35 million.  From Houston's perspective, they'd be getting Dooling for free, plus would have an extra $500k.  They could keep Williams and/or Moore, or cut their non-guaranteed deals.

If they cut Williams and Moore, could the C's resign them?

That's a very do-able solution.  Hope it works out.  I think we'd still then need a backup PG.

I think Lee will likely sign for around 5 mil. He has many suitors. The same potential path to acquire Lee could be used to acquire Mayo.  Lee is the easier of the two targets to get though. Houston is interested in acquiring assets to get howard. They would be willing to take Dooling at 3 mill if it allows them to get Johnson and a pick. I like lee, but I would prefer Mayo. Both players are about the same, but Mayo can create his own shot. That is something the C's desperately need

We'll probably need to throw in a pick as well. Houston has said they wanted a vet to mentor their youngsters. Dooling is perfect for that.

Dooling(3m) and a protected 1st for Lee
Seems fair IMO
Toss in JJJ and make it a 2nd instead
Add Moorw and 1m

Lee gets 6m
Can't stop, Rondo!

I would be fine with this. Seems like Jeff Green except he naturally plays SG instead of SF...Maybe he would actually start next season if Bradley is out...

I'd be very happy to get Courtney Lee if that sort of deal could be worked out.
