I know that many in the media and on this board think that Ray is already gone and that many signs point that way. I don't. If the public persona that Ray has cultivated over the years is real, he won't go to the cHeat.

Ray is too competitive to be an "if you can't beat them, join 'em" kinda guy.

If Ray takes his talents to South Beach, his public persona takes a huge hit. With the Cs offering double the money and a no trade clause or kicker (if the rumors are correct)Ray comes off as "jilting the Cs" out of spite if he goes over to the cHeat.

God, I hate the cHeat!!!!!!!!!

First the unsavory, duplicitous collusion (which no doubt involved the cHeat organization) that brought the unholy trinity together in the first place along with the Wade rip of Rondo'st elbow and his cheap shots in general coupled with the biases for them by the legue/refs/ESPN.

And now, trying to steal away of one of our players by taking advantage of Ray's ego and his anger at the Cs. (He's an athlete being paid millions to play a game. He was the subject of trade talks on numerous occasions, and felt unloved. BOOHOO. Get over it Ray, that's part of the business!)

I saw this coming when Allen, Wade and LeBroid had that lovefest on the floor at the end of game 7 of the ECF.

This is kinda like you p---ing off your girl friend , and to get back at you she goes and sleeps with your sworn enemy who was also her sworn enemy. Ray's not that kinda guy.

You have too much class, Ray, to do this.

P.S. He will swallow coming off the bench, because Wade is an established star and AB?....who the hell is he?

Hey Ray, he's the guy, if you become a cHeat, who will be in your jersey smothering you and blocking your shots.

Won't come to this. Ray wont do it in spite of all of the signs to the contrary.

That's how I felt in the beginning. Unfortunately I'm starting to waver from that...

I do hope you're right though.

I'm in the "Ray is gone" camp as of right now.

  • It's what I do! It's who I am!
It only matters what Ray thinks. And I don't think Ray views going to Miami as classless.

I'm staying optimistic, and have accepted that nobody knows what Ray is going to do except for him and his family.

I'M THE SILVERBACK GORILLA IN THIS MOTHER... AND DON'T NONE OF YA'LL EVER FORGET IT!

TP for Csfansincethe60s.

I think Ray will do what he feels it's better for his family and for his life after basketball. He seems to be a guy who thinks a lot about his next step, so I'm not buying the Rondo vs Ray feud and feeling disrespected as a reason to listen to offers. He's just doing what he's supposed to do.

Why should he go out and say: "I'm a celtic and I won't speak to anyone". That wouldn't be Ray. He is doing what he should do, listening to offers, and he'll make his decision next week.

If he chooses Miami, he's hurting his legacy, no matter how many rings he could get from joining the cHeat. He's perceived as a classy guy, and going to play with LeBron and Wade would not help his perceived leadership and character.

By the way, the LeBron tweet about his kid asking about Ray is enough to stay away from those morons. That, combined with the pic of Ray in a cHeat uniform, is trolling in the corniest way.

Ray is not a teenager, he'll make a well-thought decision, and he'll probably make the right one.

I, too, believe he has too much class to do this. I don't know if it will damage his character, but it really just doesn't seem like him. He already has a ring. You mean to tell me the prospect of retiring a Celtic, sticking it out with the teammates that he won his first championship with means nothing at all to him?

I can't believe that. The Celtics are really bending over Backwards for Ray. They really are. Please stay, Ray. Please, please stay.

Ray's my favorite player in NBA history after Michael Jordan himself. In fact, I might even like Ray more than Jordan. I've been a fan of whatever team Ray has been on ever since he entered the NBA. I was a Bucks fan. I was a Supersonics fan, and now I'm a Celtics fan, and while I'll still cheer the Celtics on, and wish them the best, I'll probably be a Heat fan if Ray leaves.

TP....can you see Ray buying into The (Pretentious) Decision?..into Wade's cheapshots...into the biases of the league, refs and media for the cHeat....into the cheesiness, self aggrandizement and self fellatio that goes on in South Beach?...I can't.

As far as Ray is concerned, dueces. We got KG back, we have the Captain, we have Rondo. What Ray brings to the court (primarily 3 pt shooting at this point) is replaceable. If he leaves, the world doesn't end in Boston. Danny will go to Plan B and we'll be fine.

True, but there's little I wouldn't give to see the big 3 raise one more banner together.  I could die happy then... even if I'm only 27.

To the original poster, I sure hope you're right, but I don't have a good feeling right now.
