Celtics considering Nick Young

I like Young better than Mayo. He has his flaws, but I believe on this celtics team with Rondo, KG, and Doc, he can flourish. He would give us much more speed and athleticism than Ray, can create his own shot, and can shoot the three.

if ray goes to miami. i don't see how boston gets nick young...i can't see boston going after him if they can't do a s and t...

if they land on pietrus...i just hope he finds his game....he was awful offensively last year...having Jet will help the bench a ton..but if they go with pietrus over anyone else..his return to scoring would be tremendous

I think a place like Boston is exactly what Nick Young needs. We have the leadership and charisma to get through to a guy like that, and he would give us a terrific athlete and scoring punch at the very least. If we're gonna lose Ray, Jet/Young is a very nice Plan B.

I sincerely doubt anyone who wants him has ever seen him play. He is absolutely terrible. He can't defend, rebound, pass, or play off the ball. His greatest skill is shooting, BUT HE ISN'T EVEN A GOOD SCORER. Look at his shooting splits! He is an inefficient chucker, who can't do ANYTHING else, and all of his advanced metrics are in the gutter. Why on earth would you want this kid?

I mean, people are actually saying this kid has talent? No. He doesn't. He sucks. I live in DC and have seen him play A LOT. His ceiling is a poor man's Nate Robinson. We can do MUCH better.

We'd really prefer you Pietrus, but it's still up to Ainge & the crew.

Nick Young is (probably) better than nothing.  The silver lining would be that if we're getting Young, it means Ray is going to the Clippers rather than the Heat.  I can live with that.

Although at least Young probably won't shoot at the opponents basket in order to pad a triple double stat.

Well he almost got a double double once, with 9 rebounds.

His career high in assists is 6.

I'd rather have Gerald Green.

Only a small sample from last season, but he does seem to get it now and wants to play the right way, which I can't say for Nick Young. Young might have been under bad influence in Washington but he looked like a very selfish player, while he was there, and only slightly better under Chris Paul's control.

Well he wasn't with the Clippers for long, not to mention the Clips have a mediocre coach. To see any improvement in that little time means there is still some hope that he could turn out to be a solid player.

He didn't improve though, he was worse than in Washington during the regular season. (he was playing out of position at SF though).

He shot well in the playoffs, far beyond his career norm in a small sample size. Not something to get too excited about.

All we need to know about Nick Young is that the Wiz couldn't get him far enough away from their young players fast enough because he is such a knucklehead.

Danny purged this team of that element last year. No way he signs a doofus like Young. No way no how.
