It would probably touch him believe it or not as silly as it sounds.

Someone posted that a full page ad is $8,645. The thought definitely ran through my mind too but not for that kind of money.

Free agent Ray Allen left his meeting with the Miami Heat on Thursday night without giving them an answer on their contract offer and is torn on whether to leave the Boston Celtics, sources told ESPN.com on Friday.

The most the Heat could offer is three years and $9.5 million.

The sources did not go into specifics, saying Allen is torn because remaining a Celtic is still very much an option.

Heat stars LeBron James and Dwyane Wade have recruited Allen. Riley and Spoelstra were believed to have presented a plan where Allen would have a major role in the offense playing alongside them and Chris Bosh. The Heat are hoping that the offer entices Allen to leave money on the table and end his five-year partnership with Celtics stars Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett.

I don't get where you get starter from that if he were best believe it would have been the main thing pointed out in the article that he was offered to start. If Ray went to Miami, Chalmers would be on the bench late in games. Wade and LeBron would handle the ball like they always do anyways.

I just don't see Ray starting in Miami. He'll see plenty of minutes for either team. I'm not sure that is the most important thing to him regardless. I think being possibly traded during the middle of the season is what he wants to avoid.

You're not wrong but a lot of people have made a good living this way and won titles.

Nothing wrong with that, but there is a big difference between say Eddie House coming over to the Celtics after being on a bunch of bad teams to be a specialist and Ray Allen who doesnt want to be a "specialist," has a potential championshop team in the Celtics he can sign with, and would probably still have a more prominant role in the offense with the Celtics.

I just cant see Wade and Lebron having enough patience on the offensive end to run 10 sets a game where Ray is trying to run off picks for a three for 18 seconds of the shot clock.

Their promises about how they will use him can be broken at any time, and there will be nothing he can do about it. Ray wants respect, and he’ll have no leverage on that team. And no no-trade clause either. He’d be a fool to take the deal. They have little to lose and he has a lot to lose.
