from a Miami Herald sports writer....no indication of which way Ray is leaning but he's "VERY" seriously considering them *shrugs*

Quote
Heat, Allen get together again; Lewis visiting Heat; What NFL Films wants to tell the world about the Fins

We'll get to our weekly media column below. But first, a quick Thursday evening Heat update

1) Heat president Pat Riley and coach Erik Spoelstra met with Ray Allen in Miami on Thursday afternoon. After a break, Heat officials - including Riley, Spoelstra, Nick Arison, Andy Elisburg and Alonzo Mourning - dined with Allen on Thursday night at Il Gabbiano on Brickell.

At the end of the Thursday afternoon meeting, Allen did not tell the Heat where he will sign or how he was leaning. We can't tell you what happened at dinner because as of this posting, it is ongoing. What's clear is Allen is VERY seriously considering the Heat, even though the Celtics can offer him substantially more.

The Heat can pay him no more than $9.1 million over three years. The Celtics are offering $12 million over two years. The Clippers canceled their Friday meeting with Allen after deciding instead to sign Jamal Crawford to a four-year deal, using their $5 million mid-level exception.

came across this article via some social networking, I usually read the forums for news but figured I would post this just because of the magnitude of the event. It appears some information may have leaked and then been pulled, and was caught by the attention of a few people, including this blogger who gives more details.

It looks like theres a really strong possibility that this was rays last run as a celtic. Very upsetting, with the squad we have coming in next year, it would be nice to keep ray in the repertoire. But business is business...and he wants to put himself in the situation which fits his needs best. My hope is definitely that ray runs with the celts for another year...  Thoughts?!?!?!

I think there was a thread about this earlier today, or it was at least posted in another and discussed about at length. Interesting story, but it doesn't hold water at this point. There's been a ton of speculation and fake posts and erroneous tweets about it ... until I hear anything "official", I'm not going to take any of it seriously, or even worry about it. TP for posting, though.

If this is true, I hope they announce it as soon as possible so Danny can move on to plans B,C,or D. Honestly, this whole Ray Allen saga has become a bit tiring. We do love Ray and hope he stays. But at the end of the day I believe that we cheer for the name in front of the jersey and not the one at the back. With or without Ray, we have a good shot at competing for #18. We may not be favored but we won't go down without a serious fight.

I guess as always people just jump the gun just so they can be labeled as "the first one to break the news" without even looking if the source is legit. A good example is this station who believed a fake Woj account then claim Yahoo as the source. Just ridiculous. ;D

And heres the story

This is getting annoying, I think for the sake of both fan bases Ray needs to make a decision unless of course you believe he's seriously considering Minnesota or Memphis.

This is something somebody posted over on realgm wasn't me. I am just simlpy bringing it over to here for everyone to discuss!

Breaking: Ray Allen will come back to the Celtics. A source that I'm in contact with that is close to Danny tells me Ainge has got to Ray. They are discussing final details with the trade kicker/no clause. Ray as a competitor does not like the heat, but has respect for them understandably. Allen will receie a number close to the 2 year 12 million dollar deal reported. Details will come out later today. Ray wants to end his career with Boston. The beef with Rondo is way blown out of proportion. Take this anyway you want but this news will come out.

Just to be clear, the source is an inside Celtic executive. I'd post this on twitter but dont have am account.
