The Atlantic Division used to be a cakewalk for the Celtics... I don't see that being the case again for a long time coming. Just look at the teams and what they have done/attempting to do so far this offseason.

Celtics- Buffing up the roster, looking deeper, great coach, great chemistry, and poised to make a big playoff run if everything works out. Not much else to say

Knicks- Pretty sure this team was 18-6 or something like that under Wooden. Now hes coaching the whole year. Ton of talent on this team, I think they're gonna have a big year and be a tough team to beat

Nets- Biggest story of the offseason so far. Williams is staying, Wallace is staying, got Joe Johnson, and D12 is doing everything in his power to make his way over to them. The scary part: their billionaire owner can afford to buy his team. They're definitely up and coming in their new Brooklyn market

Sixers- Well coached, balanced, deep team and was on track to winning the division last year before their meltdown. Could argue they were a superstar away from seriously contending (though they knocked off the Bulls and took us to game 7 in the semis). Looking to get that star, but either way this team is poised to have a winning season.

Raptors- Still a question mark but they look to be making strides. Might be getting Nash, good front court between Bargnani and Valuanciunas, and well coached. Will probably do better than last season.

To sum up, every team in the Atlantic is getting tougher. This is gonna be a scary conference come next season. Lets see how well our Celtics hold up

I definitely agree. Makes for an exciting season of basketball.
Signed to a 6 year $0 contract with the Celtics Blog forum!

  • GOT IT!!!
It should be a very deep division on paper. It's possible at least four of those teams make the playoffs.

Have yet to see what happens in Philly. I think they could actually be headed for an overhaul. Brand, Iggy, and Hawes could all be elsewhere next season.

If Nash spurns Toronto, they'll struggle for another season.

Knicks are still heavily dependent on Amare, Melo, and Chandler. No Baron Davis next year, and possibly no Lin either.

I do think Nets have dramatically improved, but that's not saying much compared to last year's roster.

Atlantic is no longer a cakewalk, though, that's for sure.

  • It's what I do! It's who I am!
Maybe more competitive games means Rondo has more big performances ;)

Knicks: loss Fields, could lose Lin to the Rockets. Either way he's overrated, teams have figured him out. They haven't uppgraded their roster. Hopefully Nash doesnt get s&t but goes to the Mavs.

Nets, hopefully that's it, Deron is good but not special, Johnson is not better all of  a Sudden . Wallace is poor mans Iguodala, can't shoot to save his life. Hopefully NO Dwight, looks unlikely anyway.

Sixers: could lose jrue holiday, reportedly he asked for Max contract, lol. Lou williams opted out, not sure about contract length he Will get vs cap situation. Hawes is free agent, Brand might amnestied.

Draft picks Moultrie and Harkless, not bad but unproven, alot of question marks about this team...

Raps, if they lose out on Nash, they're Pretty Much same lottery team as last season.

Boston, still favorite, with a full training camp, And preseason ,with addition of Jet and all FA:'s we Will  win atlantic division comfortably.
