Rumors persist that Danny Ainge has vet-min offers out for both Scottie Pippen and Stacey Augmon, but no official reports have been issued.

Supposedly Karl Malone wants one more crack at a title.

Sometimes you just have to embrace your identity, I guess.

Green coming back and a healthy Bradley, plus the sophomores and rookies, should help our athleticism.

Could have Bass banging down there also. He is very good at gathering and slamming down jams.

  • Let's Go Celtics!

First, I was really excited about KG comming back.  Then Allen and now the Jet.

Everything lookis fine until you start looking at the age and lenght of these contracts.  Jet for 3yrs? KG for 3? Ray for 2 or is it going to take 3?  Add a very old looking PP and.....we are starting to look like an AARP comercial.

Amen.

I just want Rondo to be let off the leash already, but we keep tying him down with 30 year old+ cement blocks.

I know everyone is on the "yay, the band is a-coming back!" float, but I really want one player UNDER the age of 30 to add to our speed/youth brigade of Rondo, Bradley, and Green (and no, I'm not counting either of the rooks because they're both slow as molasses. Or JJJ for that matter unless he's added 20 lbs to his tooth pick frame).

We're all set at pf. If we need a Malone, go for Moses, or even Jeff.

;D  They need to have their minutes severely limited in the Regular Season, while also skipping any back to backs.

Not concerned with BOS's age, at all.

If this team could go 39-27 with the schedule they had last season, push MIA to 7 games, and do this without AB, JG, Wilcox?

Then I fully expect this team to win a lot next yr, with Jet, AB, JG, and whomever else Danny can sign.

The biggest thing, IMO, is that next yr will be a NORMAL schedule...more practice time for the rooks, more practice time for the vets.

The team will also have 2-3 days off on some nights, too - including the playoffs.

And I'm believing that we will see a lot of Jared Sullinger, too. He will/should have a LOT to prove. Hopefully, Fab will develop quickly, too. If he gets it, that will be a very nice rim protector for BOS.

Not concerned at all with this team. Danny is simply shoring up the Big Four - just like San Antonio is shoring up Duncan, Manu and TP with good, young players around those three.

We never hear anyone saying that San Antonio has age issues, do we?

Don't forget that this "Old" team beat PHI and ATL, both younger teams, too - especially PHI.

Took MIA to 7 games, too.

We'd probably be celebrating banner 18 if it wasn't for LeBron having the biggest game of his life in game 6, too.

Old Guys: Peirce,KG,may beRay, and maybe Jet

Kinda Old guys:(possible)Peach's,Wilcox,Bass(possible)

Young Guys:Rondo,AB,Green(possible),JJJ,Moore,Sully,Melo,Joseph,Steamer

Now not all the young guys will be here. Some in D league, some maybe in a small trade for a solid roll player.

But even if Ray and Jet sign, thats a pretty good mix of young and old. Old guys will take a bulk of the minutes int the first couple months, get the young guys like Sully and Melo up to speen, hopefully JJJ as well.

Next few moths young guys take over a bulk to give the vets some rest.

Last few months Doc gets the play off rotation were he wants, make any moves in the standings, and have a nice rhythm for the play offs.

I mean our old guys are OLD for NBA standards, but what you need them for is to set tones, and hit clutch shots, PP and Ray showed injured they could still do it, and KG showed he was still a force.

If the team rounds out like DA wants, and every one stays healthy, this team could be scary in the playoffs. At least for Miami.

you guys realise that theres a 50-50 chance Ray doesnt return...with the way doc talked about ray today/this move I think danny knows ray is swaying towards leaving.

so, that leaves PP/KG/Terry as our 3 "old" guys

for youth you have rondo,Bradley,Sullinger,JJJ,melo, Green(most likely) Bass(possibly)

just because you have 3 guys 30+ doesnt mean you are all of a sudden "old"...c's are going to mix youth with veteran experience.

man how can you guys complain? This is shaping up to be the deepest team we've had in years... mix of old and young, soon we'll be looking like last years Spurs :)

Old, Tall, Short, Small, Fast.... Who cares ?

In the immortal words of Aaliyah, " Age ain't nothing but a number ".

Can you play ?  That's all that matters.  Terry can play and then some.  Same goes for Pierce, KG, & Ray.  I'll take'em on my team anyday.  They still have a lot left to give.

  • You say when......
Guess what...WHY would doc do anything different then this year...play the big 3 to death, rondo, steamer or wilcox...then bradley.....all the other rookies and even non- rookies sit forever...unless we are ahead by 30 with 3 minutes left..then they get to play, and learn the system..becasue they don't practice......sooooo, here we go again.......
