Just a random question...

Of all the guys who are officially/unofficially "Done" in this league... who (if anyone) do you predict will actually return to the NBA... and who (if anyone) do you think will actually have success.  I'll list some names... let me know if there are others.

#1. Yao Ming... turns 32 in September.  How far-fetched are the odds here? Where's it rank between "completely impossible" to "highly unlikely... only if the Chinese government forces him to" ... is he permanently broken?

#2.  Brandon Roy...  turns 28 this month.  Wants to return.  We expecting it?  Will he ever be a significant contributor?  What's your prediction?

#3.  Greg Oden... 24 years old.  He'll come back eventually, right?  He has to, right?

Marbury is 35 and Iverson is 37... I know they'd both love to play in the league, but there is no chance in hell, right?

Anyone else?  Make your crazy guesses.

FYI, the Raptors just offered a 3 year 35 million dollar deal to a 38 year old.  The Celtics just did the same to a 36 year old.

I think Brandon Roy will make an attempt to come back and get signed somewhere for the vet min... whether or not his knees hold up is something that no one can predict (though I doubt they will)

I'm an optimist, but this point, unfortunately I think Yao is done.

Roy has a solid chance at staying healthy with that state of the art knee rehab I've heard  about. He won't be anywhere near his old form, but he'll contribute I hope.

As for Oden, I'm not saying anything. I don't wanna jinx him or anything. He needs luck and a new pair of legs. First NBA player with metal legs maybe?

Marbury's found a home in China. And AI is just done I think.

But, BRING BACK SHEEEEEED. Muahaha.

Also, Big Ben still has 3rd string game.

Toine?  :P
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Greg Oden has the best odds. Brandon Roy after him. Iverson and Marbury will likely never play in the League again.
