Well Chris Paul turn down his 3 year extension. Alot of NBA exectives thinks he wants to be a free agent next year to be a Knick. Just read it on HoopsHype. With Melo, Amare, and Chandler, the Knicks have to clear one of them I think to make it work. Is Amare a free agent next season?

I thought it didn't make financial sense for Paul to sign a deal until next summer? That he can make more money then - sign a longer deal than he can now?

Do I have that right? Wasn't that the story last off-season? Why Paul and Dwight weren't willing (from a financial standpoint) to sign contract extensions. Or do I have that wrong?

That's correct by holding out this year he can make more next year. Chris is happy with Blake and the clippers. LA will be there town here soon.

Yes, this is what I heard too. I don't think he wants to be a Knick anymore. He's loving his drama free leadership position in LA and the Clippers can only get better.

I'm pretty sure it was expected he turn down the extension - he'd be leaving money on the table by re-upping now.

Trust me, there's no way he leaves a young team coming up like the Clippers to join NY. Doesn't make sense from a finacial perspective (they can offer him more), a marketing perspective, or a basketball perspective.

won't leave this year , probally next year for the "BIG" money contract elsewhere  (LA) if they can dump Gasol and get their cap room in order.  Leaving the CLippers to fall into a abiss of NBA medicority .

I doubt money will factor in his decision. He has alot in endorsements and other things. Its not a secret he always wanted to be a Knick and he will.

Kobe is on the books for $30.5m, plus a hold of like $20m for Bynum + Artest. That's pretty much their cap with just 3 guys... They're not getting CP3.

so, looking back on it would you say its a good thing we never did the Rondo for cp3 trade now?

right now we would be sitting looking at CP3 possibly leaving boston after a 66game rental leaving us with just Paul pierce

That's just speculation. I still think he is trying to hold their feet to the fire to motivate them to spend as much as they can to improve the team the most they can until he commits.

All reports are he wants Billups back and has been heavily recruiting for the Clippers.
