While I'm sure there are some around here that think ray can no longer play, I am guessing the majority realize he still has a great deal of value, especially on a good team.  While we're deciding whether or not to pursue him in free agency, I think it is important to realize that not signing will most likely strengthen our chief rival.

So what's better; replacing ray with a slightly better option like mayo or Williams (which is arguable anyway) and letting him walk to the heat or resigning him, which may not leave the heat much options?

I can only speak for myself, but I definitely think Ray can still play and will help some team.

HOWEVER.

He'll be 37 years old when the new season starts. He only brings one skill to the table now - his 3 pt shooting - and I just think it's time for us to really think of the future as much as right now. We NEED more youth on this team - youth that can majorly contribute - at this point.

I know a lot of people tend to say "if we were healthy the last few seasons, we'd have more titles". The problem there is that when you're counting on a bunch of guys in their mid 30's to be major contributors, injuries will be a determining factor.
