I'm just super pumped about Sullinger. Questions abound, but I'm pumped.

One comparison I haven't seen made is Kurt Thomas.  Another 6' 9" guy with some bulk, excellent rebounder, not particularly athletic, but with good basketball sense and toughness.  Can make jumpers.

I like Boozer, also.  And Scola is another name I've seen.  I've also seen Love as a sort of dream scenario.

On the downside, he's BBD with a better jumpshot, comparable defensive awareness (as to BBD's first year) and less of the unique self-destructive crazy BBD carried.

I'm not even sure he's as good as Davis, offensively, and from what I've seen his jump shot is every bit as streaky.

He is, however, considerably better in moving his feet on defense, which makes me think that he may stick around. Or even start sooner rather than later, depending on the circumstances.

What makes you unsure he's as good as Baby offensively? Better FG%, TS%, pts-per-play (accounting for turnovers) than Baby at LSU.

I like this pick very much, but I'm not buying that his floor is BBD.  From what I've seen of this kid, he lacks athleticism.  And of course we know about the back issue.

Doesn't mean he can't play, but it does mean that it's not inconceivable that he could be a total bust and out of the league in 2 or 3 years.

All that being said, I think he is one of the best offensive players in this draft, and I LOVE the pick.
