I think it all comes down to if you think he will work hard to get better. If he does, and by that I mean convert some of that body fat into muscle, work on improving his first step and leaping, improve his range on his jumper and improve his defense I think he can be a better version of Brandon Bass: He can have the shooting touch of Bass (In fact he already has better range on his jumper) plus a post game which Bass has none of. I figure if Sullinger can become a 16 and 7 guy that would be brilliant for a player picked at 21. I tend to think he can.

He can become more than that. Doc is already encouraging him to keep expanding his shooting range, and said that Sullinger's jump shot is under-rated.

Sullinger obviously has great shooting touch, and he shot 40% from college 3. That's much better than Austin Rivers, % wise.

So if Sullinger expands his game to account for his height disadvantage, which any 20 y.o. is perfectly capable of doing, I can see him becoming a 23-24 ppg scorer. Perhaps sooner rather than later. 3-4 years. Not a stretch at all.

Draftexpress had/has him ranked 6th overall.

Definitely upside as a 20ppg scorer in the NBA, and highly motivated to improve after dropping in the draft.

Jared Sullinger has the potential to be Brandon Bass with a post game. Hell, with his rebounding and jumpshot he could just as well end up being David West or Carlos Boozer...

This kid really has the talent to be one of those 2nd tier type power forwards who aren't quite superstars... but are still walking double doubles who can give you great looks down low.
