I think its time to recognize how big of a steal this is, especially for a contending team. we could have ended up with someone much worse.

I agree this was a HUGE steal. I'm so glad we had picks 21 and 22 it was the perfect situation to grab him when the red flags came out. Not too early and we had 2 picks so worth the risk in comparison to most teams who passed over him.

This guy is good enough to help us next year and be a big part of the rotation. I'll bet doc breaks the rookie rule and plays him a lot. He's NBA ready as long as the back holds up, and he's gonna be a great player for this team. He's the main reason that OSU went like 24-0 last year as a freshman when he was top 1-5 projected but went back for his 2nd year and a main reason OSU went to the final four these past two years.

This guy is a great player whose way ahead of a lot of the other rookies in this draft. I can't believe theres ppl who don't like this pick...

we shouldn't count on anything right away though, might be out for the year with back surgery  :-X

A herinated disc will not keep him out for the season even if he has surgery. Like Ian Thomsen said the Celts Drs. are some of the best, they didn't allow DA to pick Brandon Roy because of his knees, they wouldn't have okayed the pick if it was that bad.

Joseph was top 15 last year - I think he'll start for us when PP retires. Great athlete to run w/ Rondo, can nail open 3's, can drive to the hoop, and is a lockdown defender.

Avery Bradley was at one time considered to be ahead of John Wall, who was the #1 high school player in the country when he entered college.  Like how Danny buys low with guys who at one time were considered can't miss studs.

People around here don't want to hear that...they just want to hear about how we passed on a player with knee problems and how dumb Ainge was not to grab Perry Jones III.

My wife is a PT and she specializes in Sports rehab patients....was very reassuring last night . She watched the show and some video on line of his movement , and commented that she was sure he could be "REPAIRED" ;). She has done some amazing rehabs in many different sports fields .  I'll take her word. and keep my fingers crossed.

I liken him to a 'blem" tire or scratch n dent special...nothing too wrong....Danny was value shopping .

SO maybe he pulled a rabbit out of the hat and bought a Lottery pick that fell though the cracks as damaged goods.

The risk is small relative to where he was taken...

I'm sure the Celtics will be doctoring and working with him .

We'll bang out his dents and see what we got.  ;D

But Oden was already showing signs of being "injury prone" while in college.  Sullinger has been one of the top College Basketball Players the past 2 seasons.

picking at 21 ainge swung for the fences. i think this is a low risk gamble with an incredible amount of upside. this guy is talented and will put up double double fairly often.

he is what the celtics have needed for the past few years, someone who can work under the basket. and he also is developing an outside shot. he is a great learner and hard worker too.

not the best in the draft, but without the red flags on his back he would have been done in the top 10 or so.

celtics got lucky here. i hope he develops quickly and can back up KG soon.

who knows? maybe now ainge can deal bass away in a sign and trade and bring in someone else.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
