With the Heat winning the finals this year. I am just as upset as our boys didn't get there and win number 18. I also love Rondo as much as anyone here and would love to see another superstar with him. Someone like Dwight Howard. BUT Rondo is also our biggest trade asset. Would you do a trade involving Rondo to get Dwight IF it meant we would sign Deron Williams in FA.. OBV Williams would have to take a lesser contract let us bring back the likes of KG and perhaps Ray allen. But a team that looks like this would make me think very hard about doing it.

Williams
Bradley
Pierce
KG
Dwight

I don't want to get bashed here just wondering who would do that? Something fun to think about until draft day gets here! Which can't come fast enough cause I am on here just about all day!

It proposed few times, and it received mixed messages. Tough call! But I would do trade.

Thats how I feel. I mean if it means landing Dwight and Williams thats our bridge there. We could be stuck with Rondo and nobody else for sometime. So who knows but I just have a weird feeling that danny knows he needs to do something this off-season to get this thing rolling for 2013 and beyond. So we will see always fun to see what others think.

i doubt orlando would consider it.. but maybe, just maybe, if you throw in paul pierce as well and a pick and they get rid of hedo, then there's a chance...

No, Rondo is better than D-Will.  I don't understand the obsession with him.

I want Howard here. But in free agency in 2013 only. D-Will I want no where near Boston unless he is playing an away game here.
Signed to a 6 year $0 contract with the Celtics Blog forum!

howard also just had back surgery.  i'd rather see how he plays/recovers this next year before committing anything to him.

he won't be on my mind this off-season like he was last.

He's still a 7 foot tall, athletic freak, who is a once in a generation defensive talent, with plenty of room to grow offensively.

Nah I would rather package Rondo to move up to the #5. Get a good young player like Tyreke Evans and draft MKG or Drummond and get a cost controlled franchise player which Rondo is not one.

He's still a diva and will not sign long term. We need to just forget about these pipe dreams and face rebuilding the Celtcs the right way. When we trade Rondo it's got to be for an elite prospect like a Drummond or an MKG

6 months ago I would have said yes. But I just love this team's attitude and the way they approach the game. Howard and Williams, for as good as they are, can be two huge, whiny distractions. Look at what Howard has single handedly done to Orlando! Getting them might make the Celts an exciting team, but we already have the Red Sox to fulfill our need for drama. I'd pass.

Oh, and that Rondo guy....he's the real deal

Of course. Anybody in their right mind would deal Rondo for Howard and then sign Williams.

Problem is Orlando will want alot more than just Rondo and consolation (draft picks, JJJ, Bradley, etc.)
