highly applaud rondo and kg for not kissing up to those 2 punks...my guess if if they lost to the thunder it wouldve been different, they simply have no respect for the heat and neither do I

If anything, I would have liked my son to see his two favorite players wish their opponents well after the game.

But I agree that too big a deal gets made about stuff like this. Practically every one of the stars and "thugs" in that game last night does charity work, goes to see sick kids, promotes stay in school, etc. As far as I know, we don't have a single player on this team who got arrested for domestic abuse or DUI, who is openly homophobic, or who has drug violations.

All in all, this year's Celtics and this year's Heat have been really strong role models for the kids.

If Boston won and Lebron and Wade had left early and didn't shake the Celtics hands, how would you feel?  That is how you should feel now, whatever it is.  If you would have been p---ed at James and Wade then you should be p---ed at Garnett and Rondo, and if you wouldn't have cared, then you shouldn't care now.

not to be a jerk, but if kg is your son's fav player.....why care about him walking off the court and not the constant swearing every game?  just a question

I could care less over something so trivial. Who cares? Get over it! I would not have been surprised if Wade and Lebron had done this and I still would not have cared! I agree if you would be mad if Lebron and Wade had done it then you should be upset that KG and Rondo did it but only in that instance. The way this thread is still being talked about you would have thought KG and Rondo had spit in Lebron and Wades face! Not many sports even still do this that I can think of. This is not grade school.

I don't care either way. We lost and the season (and maybe the Big Three era) is through. There are more important things to think about.

Question wasnt for me, but I think its different because you don't really hear KG other than a random curse once and again when the camera/sound guys get sloppy, and usually then not if you're not listening for it.

Also, its a pretty public gesture of sportsmanship, something easy to point to.

The swearing...most everybody I know swears when they're playing sports unless the officials really police it.

If its so trivial, why are you wasting your time? I don't think its a big deal either in the grand scheme of things, but that doesnt mean people can't talk about it.

Why? People are almost all saying, 'It was a crappy thing, but not that big a deal,' or some variation.

A) Lots of sports do this, from the highschool level to college to professional sports. In fact, just about all sports do it. Boxers acknowledge each other after fights. Tennis players shake. Football players usually shake hands, very publicly, hockey players shake hands. Baseball teams line it up after a game, don't they? Heck, when I decide to risk my life and limb and play rugby, we still form a line after the game, and more than a few times its been done in a game where there was an actual fistfight or three.

B)'This isn't grade school' is a total cop out, because thankfully, more than just grade schoolers are capable of sportsmanship, and its common in nearly every sport I've ever heard of.

u hear kg with the mics around the hoop and any1 with half a brain can read his lips.  every other word is a swear. yes everyone swears, but kg is bad, even for a pro.  (i could care less about the swearing btw).

my question was for the dad that said he hoped kg and rondo shook hands bc they are his sons fav players.  imo, kg's constant swearing is a bigger issue if im watching a game with my son (depending on the age of my son).

like i said from the get go, i could care less.  i think ur putting too much stock into "sportsmanship" after the most hurtful loss of the year.  if they want to shake hands, cool.  if they dont, cool.

Yeah, you hear it, but I've been caught laughing at the screen and my old man or my friends will ask me what's so funny cuz nobody else notices. You watch enough KG you develop a sixth sense for his profanity.

I also don't care about the swearing.

I put a lot of stock in sportsmanship, and doing the right thing even when its tough or distasteful. But like I've been saying also from the get go, I don't think this defines those guys, I just don't think it should be blithely swept away or even worse, praised as some sort of byproduct of their 'competitive spirit'.

Classless move. No other way to say it. No reason for it. Shows nothing but disrespect.

rondo and kg would probably have attacked the heat if they tried to shake their hands, so i think what they did was good sportsmanship...
