I took the time to e-mail that guy how a true basketball fan like me is offended by his article, how disgusting I think his take was and that he is exactly the type of person that has driven the NBA to the problems it has now. There is a link to his e-mail at the bottom of the article.

WOw...simply speechless. They actually dare to publish an article like this. I mean rooting for the heat by all the media is one thing, at least it has been more or less indirectly shown. Not like this, this is just blatantly calling out to "make sure" heat goes to Final.

Well they can take their rating and eat it. I will not watch the final if heat advances. I know one person isn't much, but i'll see how their rating goes. Seriously having an epic **** moment right now.  :o

ps. Doc should read this article to the Cs before they go in tomorrow to boost moral

I've sent the NBA messages about this and the "beat the heat" shirts. For what good it will do.

I'm offended by this. I'm also drunk. Where can I find the site to send the NBA a message about what I think about this and the "beat the heat" OKC shirts?
On the bottom of the article page there is a link to Shaun's email, so you can message him directly, (though I suggest doing it when you're, um ... feeling better ;)).

I just emailed him myself, and offered him best wishes for a quick and painful demise of the Heat's season on Saturday, though I did so with at least a modicum of self-restraint, (that was difficult).

Hard to believe anyone would be so blatantly biased in the major media ... suggesting the Celtics "step aside" for the greater good of the NBA and "true fans"? Seriously?!?

Wow ... he really doesn't know much about this team, or have a clue what hard-core fandom is all about, or have a realistic appreciation for the firestorm of angst he's just released on himself.

I'm pretty sure he's about to find out.

Sweet Jesus.

I'm inclined to say things that's probably going to get me banned from this forum.

That article is absolutely atrocious and combined with that OKC beat the heat tee shirt is an indictment against the NBA. The nba.com website represents the league does it not. Should they not provide responsible coverage for all teams. Letting this troll post his thou shalt root for the Heat for the good of the game is an abomination.

Stern hates Boston.

I hate Stern and the NBA.

Good night and good basketball from the Celtics in Game Seven.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

well I actually emailed this quote unquote journalist about his article.  I can't copy it here because I would get in trouble.  I didn't have many kind words.

The whole article smacks of the NBA being fixed, that true competition doesn't exist, and that somehow winning or being the best isn't important.  It is only important what the idiotic talking heads at NBA.com or espn.com think.  This guy is an idiot.

Last I heard, this series is tied at 3 games each.  If the Heat are so [dang] great, wouldn't they have swept us?  Wouldn't they have at least put us away in 5 games?  Well guess what, we are tied with them right now, and have a shot at sending them home.  Thoughtless, marketing based drivel like this makes me hope even more the C's take the game tomorrow.

Oh man!

Just read the article.  I think my blood pressure just went through the roof.  Eff Stern!  Eff the NBA!  How can they allow this sort of "journalism?  This is beyond comprehension.

For all that is sacred, please Boston, beat these NBA-golden child scum bags.

If I didn't live the Celtics so much, I'd probably never watch anther NBA game again.

Eff you Stern!

"Sorry, Celtics fans, but a Heat-Thunder clash in the NBA Finals would be heaven for true hoops fans."

my God! true hoop fans? those effing fair weather fans in Miami? You could basically hear what guys were talking on the court the whole time in G5, those are true hoop fans? Gimme a break. So upset right now. How the hell can people still root for Miami, is beyond me.

I know Charlotte would love to play in the Finals, true hoop fans would love to see that too. So many bad things going through my mind right now.
But that's how they do it, you know? They cant really force the refs to do the same like in Game 2, because they can't do anything as obvious again, and they try to get to you through media, and twisting you mind. This is disgusting. This isn't just four numnuts talking 5 minutes before the game and not rooting at all for the Celtics, this is just pushing them away. Adversity has gone to a whole new level.

I'm anxious to see our Celtics respond.

if you read most of powell's article on nba.com you'll see he's not a closet miami fan. Totally out in the open. Does boston has another gear article is very disrespectful as well.

http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2012/06/08/do-celtics-still-have-another-gear/

and i'm almost sure he also wrote the article about how Wade gets so little calls on game 4.

This guy seriously p--- me off. I know maybe I don't like his article b/c i'm a C fan. I can understand even professional writer has their opinion (bias) for certain team, I can even appreciate a good break down of how bad C played yesterday, however, what I can stand is the tone he used in these articles... just disrespectful.

that one actually didnt seem that bad to me.. I mean he is right in a way about our team overachieving, though I don't agree with him writing off this team for game 7. His other article was wayyyyyy worse

The NBA's OKC "Beat The Heat" Finals shirts that were suddenly pulled off the site are a disgrace as if the job is already in for a Miami/OKC Finals by the league just pathetic....I still don't know though if that is worse or you and your stupid biased Miami columns. Boston is just in the way? What kind of article was that you've written what are you getting at? What do you know about true hoop fans? The NBA should be ashamed of itself and your ass should be fired.

Yeah ... Doc said in his post-game interview with the press that they were "Bringing suits for Tuesday and suits for Thursday, that's how we're playing it."

Whatever happens tonight, I love this team and what they've accomplished this year, and I'm incredibly proud to be a fan of one of the most successful and most storied franchises in sports history.
