On RealGM, Gant, an excellent poster there, reports on the subject:

All of RealGM rooting for Rondo and Boston

Postby Gant on Mon Jun 04, 2012 11:23 am

"A note on the temperature in hell...

...it's plunged below 32 degrees fahrenheit. The most active boards on RealGM are uniformly rooting for the Celtics.

The Chicago, New York, and Orlando boards -historically the hugest haters of the green- are all enthusiastically cheering on Boston. Toronto too.

Beyond that, Rondo detractors on those boards have suddenly been transformed into huge Rajon boosters. It's like they're under an enchanted spell or something. One guy who wrote a few year ago that Duhon could do as well as Rondo on the Celtics has done a complete 180.

It's surreal and very funny. Thank you Bulls, Knicks, Magic, and Raptor supporters!"

Just wanted to share a great post and seeing something "confirmed" that we knew all along. We are not alone.  ;)

ha. i love it. just goes to show how much fans despise the fake big three. Of course, they'd be rooting for any team against the Heat but hey, we'll take it.

The Heat are turning in to the most hated team i can remember in recent memory. What makes it even better is that they're set up for failuire this year. The only thing they have going for them is Spoelstra seems to be a nice enough guy. Imagine how much hate they'd get if someone like Phil Jackson was coaching.

Heck we'll even take in the Laker fans if they don't mind us winning number eighteen. Stick it to Lebron has become as big a phenomenon as stick it to the Y------s.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

You know, it is absolutely crazy!
I am in the US from Australia at the moment and I was in Vegas over memorial day weekend.
I was wearing my Celtics Jersey's around, and the amount of LA fans that came up to me to cheer us on against the Heat was nuts! I've been there a few times, and its usually a friendly ribbing.
Before Vegas, I actually got to Boston for game 2 against Philly, and game 3 in Philly! Great experience! Even though we lost game 2...
Go Celtics!

Having recently lived in both L.A. and currently in NYC, I have friends that are Lakers/Clippers/Knicks/Nets fans.  They are all rooting for the Cs in this series.

Heard on either 'EEI or 98.5 this morning (I switch back and forth in the car and lose track) rumblings about the Heat. Gorman was on.

They didn't quote a source, but said that the rumblings are that if the cHeat lose to us, everyone except LeBroid is on the table.

If there is any truth to this, that Wade/Bosh to the Magic for Dwight and filler rumor may gain some momentum.

That would be the icing on the cake, if we ever pulled this off and beat the cHeat: the Celtics could be the impetus for the dismantling of the big three. That would be sweet!

Unfortunately, I am getting way ahead of myself here. One can dream, can't he. That's one of the great things about sports and fandom.

Seems like playing the Heat will send Rondo's popularity into the stratosphere, especially if the Celtics win.

This could actually lead to long term gains in Rondo's popularity and even starting all star spots.

Yup the HEAT vs Celtics , the epic battle of the evil men in Black ( cHeat) vs the Good (Celtics) .

Of course every mindless overweight(fat) snaggle -tooth 9 yr old in the world wearing his WWF teeshirt , sucking down a 64 oz soda will be pulling for their favorite thug ...Wade -Lebron...   to make flying dunk after dunk , after dunk ...and tell the world what great basketball they grew up seeing. ::)

while Stern rakes in the cash.... ::)

great  ::)

I don't quite get the hate for the Heat's "Big 2 and a half". It's not like they murdered somebody.

Outside of Lebron, Wade and Bosh, that roster is flawed and it's unfortunate that some in sports media choose to ignore. I think the Heat's bench are stacked with trash talking, scrubs and waste of space players in Howard, Curry, Jones, Turiaf, Cole and etc. There's something that irks basketball fans about Miami.

I think in the eyes of most, the Miami Heat believe they're entitled to a championship. And the Heat fans are just as bad. Heat fans are the worst fan base in the entire league.

One's a dirty sob and both act like entitled brats.

The 1/2 is guilty by association.

Back to wanting Joe fired.

Slam, in the greater scheme of things, you are right.

However, this is the world of sports, where much emotion happens on a visceral level. Tribal loyalties rule the day and slights and indiscretions get magnified.

To answer your question:

1.The Decision,
2. the pretentious behavior at the Miami press conference anointing the new "big three" and predictions of the number of championships (haven't seen one yet),
 3.  "I don't foul out of games!",
4. ripping out Rondo's elbow intentionally to take him and us out of that series,
 5. breaking Kobe's nose in an ALL-STAR GAME?!?!
6. hitting a Pacer (I forget who) from the side and knocking him down like an NFL cornerback, and not getting tossed for it,
7. etc., etc, etc,
