THIS is what i mean about the bench...look at what md brought that Ray or pp couldn't..a shut down of lebron.....imagine if we tried this in game one...now think what about sasha..why not....we have 4 20 minute quarters...in those 2 loses you think we could have tried the guy for 5 minutes in the start of the 2nd q.....it wasn't as if anyone was covering wade or lebron better......if this is not on the coach...then the coach has no purpose.

The heat have no film on marquis or sasha....because doc never plays them...it is the perfect deception.....the heat even think "why bother covering them".....so they move, shoot and score...great for us...I heard sasha can cover lebron well, we saw md can do it GREAT..after sasha was on him..lebron did very little.....but the enemy of this great move is.....doc himself...as usual. He even got outcoached by himself last night....!!!

Marquis Daniels is one of the few Celtics who actually has a solid mid-range game.  He needs more time. I said it before the series even started.  I was so surprised that Doc read all those sticky notes I put on his windshield!

TP...ha...i thought i was the only one..don't forget shasha...younger guys provide faster Defense, constant pressure...it is bad to say but PP, Ray ,and even kg are great "sometimes" defenders....how do you think miami just swoops in for all those easy layups, and or uncontested shots....lazy D......another reason to play the others...sorta like WHO..oh, Greg Popovich.......!!!

I sure hope so...quisy is a pretty good passer, and since the guy doesnt really have a "midrange' game to say most of his points will come driving/cutting to the paint with his nifty post moves

also, his defense was incredibly good last night IMO

For sure, he SHUT both Wade AND Bron down with man D! When Pie was in there in the 4th, it looked as if he never played D in his life... I kept screaming PUT QUIS in!!! Pie almost cost us the game he was so bad defensively, yet Doc kept him in!! Doc is not as good of a coach as I thought... it saddens me!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Pietrus' game really relies too much on his 3point shot at this point in his career IMO...when that shot isnt falling Doc needs to go with guys like quisy who gets his points in the paint which are higher percentage

or even Sasha who maybe can actually knock down an open 3 pointer.

Another thing that Doc seemed to realize is that the small ball lineup works really well.  We often went to one when Posey was here.  And it worked really well last night (and reasonably well the game before).

I hope we see it even more on Sunday.  It works even better with this team that currently has most of its depth and talent at the 2/3 spots.  And it's not like Brandon Bass is really that much of a big man anyway.  Most of his offense comes off jump shots and he's not a great rebounder or shot blocker.  That's not a knock on him, but it's not like we lose a lot when we put Daniels or Pietrus out there instead of him.

It takes a while to see doc for what he is and isn't..he can draw up a play...but to see the whole picture...he cannot..matchups, the hot hand, trying matchups, different lineups for diff teams...not his strong points...and sasha, I watched the guy do exactly what we'd want on Joe johnson...and then sasha would slash , shoot and score at the other end....then guess what...doc pullled him.....??? Same with MD....how does his mind process things..? He seemingly DID almost cost us the game last night..after all the good md did....and WHY wasn't MD os sasha in during the previous 2 games..sasha DID play with lebron in cleve....sasha was quite a hot shooter on that team....oh yea...but he PLAYED also...forgot 'bout that part....

I love Quis but the biggest problem we face wih him on the floor is spacing because of his inability to shoot the ball.  Miami will certainly adjust their defense to take adavantage of this fact.  That said, I say throw him out there and let him take pietrus time if he continues to be ineffective.

quisy is good moving and cutting without the ball, we kind of lost that offensive option when Bradley went out...when Rondo or pierce drive to the basket, and someone overcommits just for a second, he can sneak by for a layup

I agree.  Let's hope he's learned and it's not too late.

Not a fan of sentences? Does .. mean some thing different than ... and ......?

Who are the "younger" guys you are referring to? I guess Sasha is a youngster at 29, but Dooling, Pietrus and Daniels are all in their 30s (with Pietrus being the youngest).

Miami swoops in for those layups because Chalmers beats Rondo off of screens. Rondo is young. Lebron has not been swooping in for layups. He has finished on breaks and hit a lot of midrange shots. Wade has been hit or miss, but he is good enough that he will exploit plays where the defense breaks down. Of course, we have been throwing double teams at Wade to cover for Ray Allen's declining defense.

We were in Miami in game one. It is easier to win at home.

I'm sure there are fans in OKC saying "why didn't we do in games 1 and 2 what we did in game 3"? There is a misconception that when you win, that justifies all decisions made and when you lose, that invalidates all decision made. Yet we consistently see playoff game outcomes following home court. Does this means all the coaches are making better decision at home than on the road?

I thought going to KG inside was a great strategy. But having Rondo drive the ball down Miami's throat in game 2 may have been just as good a strategy. The biggest difference may have been home court.

I don't know but I hope so. I think it's critical to do the following:

1. Use some combination of Sasha and Marquis, every game and whichever guy has it going, to get PP at least 10-12 minutes rest every game. Dooling, Marquis and or Sasha should also provide at least 15-20 minutes rest for Ray as well. Fresh legs down the stretch get you wins.

2. I'd really like to see both Steamer and Hollins used a little bit more as hammers in this series.
* Use 3-4 timely fouls each and really whack both LeBron and Wade pretty 2-3 times every game.
* Good opportunities to do this are obviously when they drive the lane but also you can run a play where they're coming around a screen and whack them really good.
* Coming out in the fourth with that 22 point lead would have been a perfect time - don't be afraid to kick them in the teeth when they are down.

* Lastly, would like to see Hollins and Steamer throw their weight around on the glass more.
