Melo is over rated  6 RPG in game in college is going to translate  into about 1-2 RPG in the pros.

No Melo please! He'll be out of the NBA in a couple of years. I would love White in Green but how effective is he going to be without the ball in his hands? With Rondo around he won't handle the ball as much as he would like.

I haven't seen him play but he sounds great.  We should take a chance on him with Rondo around we're never going to be bad enough to get a top flight talent in the draft regardless of what happens with the Big 3.  IF we can get someone this talented at 20 I say go for it.  As long as he loves basketball, and it doesn't seem like that's the issue with him, the off the court stuff can be worked out

well if he could just get over his fear of flying, a professional career awaits him.  i dunno. is this guy athletic enough and big enough to play PF for us? how is his defense first of all, and can he create his own shot in the post?

He'll get lots of offensive rebounds. He's more than big enough, he's just not quite long enough. But it all adds up to a big plus, because of his strength.

There are not many bruisers at PF these days it seems. White is a bruiser with above average athleticism and leaping for a guy that strong.

You know how Lebron bullies his way to the rim with his big strong shoulders? White is like that, but even stronger, if less athletic.

He can totally create his own shot in the post, and he's hardly scratched the surface in that regard. His ball handling is superb and he can get his shot off against any big, usually right at the rim.

His reach is 7 foot or 7'1", so it's exceptionally long for a kid 6'8".

He doesn't seem to have a whole lot of moves in the post, but that was his first year of college game experience, and he's never really had to develop many post moves.

He could be really good, to the point that everybody else is trying to find the next Royce White.

He won't be the fastest, longest, or jumpiest power forward in the league, but he'll be able to get a body on guys and keep them out of the paint. His quickness isn't below average for a PF, and his rebounding is above average. 4 is the position he defends best, and I think he'll be at least average within a couple months.

The only thing I'd look for with him is manipulative tendencies. I haven't seen any of that yet, so that's good. You don't want a guy who's gonna pull the "crazy" card when it's convenient.

Has Royce worked out for Boston? Any one on one interview? From the reports of Danny allegedly trying to get interviews and workouts from Barnes, Drummond and MKG, Royce White is one of the few names I haven't heard linked to Boston in any way. Other than Nicholson I haven't heard much about Danny liking anyone around the 21 spot, actually.

I didn't watch White's game against Kentucky, but I heard at one point he was screaming at his coaches on the sidelines, totally out of control.

Anybody see that or can verify it?

Could be wrong, but just thinking that Danny might not want to bring him in so people don't think we'll take him if he drops.

Or we could just not want him.  I'm not sure.  With two picks, he is worth the risk to me.

He reminds me of Anthony Mason..same style of play. But with his anxiety of fear of flying, i may pass on him
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I really want to see that ISU vs Kentucky game:

Well Royce White had one hell of a game but the difference is one man is no match for a team who has a hell of a game.

After finding their second wind the Cyclones came out the second half ready to play head to head with the Wildcats. Royce White was phenomenal doing whatever he wanted on the inside. After driving to the basket and making it anybodies game, Royce White beat his chest like an animal and yelled "I'm the Best Player!" Hahahaha...Really? Royce White was doing whatever he wanted to do on the defensive end too that's why he fouled out of the game. OK...Enough about White one Kentucky player made it his business to give White a very rude awakening.

Darius "Wetter then Water" Miller. Miller had 19 points and 6 rebounds for the CATS. After that run by Iowa St and Royce White declaring he was the best player, Miller turned straight beast. You could see it all over his face.

Yeah, as much as I love his game and think he could be a top 15 player in the league, I think he's probably a ticking time bomb. He also might not handle adversity too well, which is the speculation about Rondo as well.

He has a history of multiple thefts, one in a mall where he then pushed the security guard down twice, and one when he stole a laptop out of a dorm in Minny.

Anticipation of flying is what sets him off, and leaves him emotionally exhausted. If that happened during the regular season or playoffs, amid close media scrutiny of Royce's struggles or something, this kid might have a nervous breakdown and quit the game. He already has his backup plan in place in case basketball doesn't work out.

Once he gets in trouble for anything, or has a perceived beef with teammates or coach, ESPN is going to cover this guy like OJ Simpson driving down the highway in his Bronco.

You know how KG always gets asked about being old? White is going to be continually asked about his flying fear, and about his anxiety and mental health in general.

His life is about to be a pressure cooker. those things are known to pop.

But I'd rather have him for 60 games and the playoffs than have him try to play 82 and freak out and lose all trust from the organization.

Assuming equal talent levels, would people rather take a risk on Royce White and his fear of flying or on someone with the same skills/abilities who has a lot of questions about his work ethic and motor?

Besides the anxiety problem; the bigger questions for Royce is How will he adapt without the ball being constantly in his hands? Considering how weak his handles are, in the NBA he will get killed bringing the ball up like he does. It's point-guard job to run the team not the power-forward. His defense also seems suspect to me. A bit of a loaf out there defensively.

A stat-stuffer in college as "Main Guy" on his team. Honestly I think he is a 2nd rounder talent. Royce White will find the transition to the NBA difficult for multiple reasons. First of which is his anxiety, his height 6'8 with shoes (short for a big man), his jumper (below average shooter), his defense a loaf, etc.... C's need to draft players who can project as starters. Players with potential.
