Quote
"The shots we missed tonight, we made in Game 5," point guard Rajon Rondo said. "That's basketball."

The Celtics shot 33% from the field.

Repeat:  The Celtics shot 33% from the field.

Repeat:  The Celtics shot 33% from the field.  For the game.

And they had 18 turnovers.

If they correct those two areas in Game 7, the game will not even be close.

Right on, one has to love these sky is failing posts, we played horrible and still stayed near them for the most part.  I think we will be ok.

We did go to gave 7 in the 1st round vs the Hawks in 2008, 7 games vs Lebron and the Cavs, 6 games vs the Pistons wherein Ray got his groove back... and 6 finals games against the fakers to win it all. What I'm saying here is that history can still repeat itself.

Anything is Possible, Remember?  :)

I believe they can win game 7.

But they will get crushed by the next opponent, whether it's Miami or Indiana.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Not having Avery is just horrid. We probably can't win the big dance without him, but we can definitely beat Philly at home in a game 7.
This is why home court is so huge.
Imagine the nerves and zealous energy that the 76ers are going to experience in their first game 7 in the BOSTON GARDEN!
They are going to be Sh%*^&$ themselves from start to finish and it's going to equate to a huge advantage.
I really can't see how we lose this game.

I'm more disappointed about losing Avery for the season and our overall chances now.
I think maybe we start Pietrus and keep Ray coming off bench.
Sasha is going to be needed vs Miami too.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

it's far from over.  Can't see the C's not winning game 7.  I'll worry about the next series when we get there.

Someone needs to post the John Belushi speech from Animal House.  That fits the situation.

Why was playing horrible in another close out game acceptable? I dont think the sky is falling I just think its pathetic when we were handed an 8th seed, shouldve beat them in 5 and here we are...whistling through the graveyard at this point, shouldve put them away

Bulls wouldve beat us in 5 had they stayed healthy as the Thunders did to the Lakers, so this is all gravy

I have no doubt we'll win game 7, but I don't expect us to come out of the ECF. We're too banged up and not playing good ball.

But I won't be too upset, because I went into the playoffs not expecting a title.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

You never know in a new series. Wouldn't be surprised if everything started clicking. These Celtics teams are so unpredictable

We can beat the sixera at home. We wont shoot 33% again...and if we make it to the next round its a whole new series. Who knows wht could happen. The cs have an advamtage over miami at pg andcenter.

We played 2 game 7s in 2008...and it didn't stop us then

Very true, I worded that poorly. I do believe we have a shot, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I'd feel a little better about our chances if we had been playing better ball. But that's why they play the games.

I need only to point to the 2008 CHAMPIONSHIP team that went to 7 games against an 8-seed that was well under .500 and not nearly as talented as the Sixers.

We just don't close series out on the road.  2010 being the prime example.
