Anyone want to pick our Finals opponent today?

It looks like the Celtics had bought into that inevitability.  When they came out smokin' tonight they really started believing it.

Now they've got to come back to Philly.

They'll win this series, but they have no place believing they're good enough to coast.  They won game 3 with "grits and balls".  The early part of the game tonight came too easy and they fell in love with the J.

A shame to waste the opportunity for a short series.

I still say we would have been smoked by Atlanta had Horford been 100% the entire series.

Getting Philly in round 2 is a major lucky break.  What's happening in Indiana and Miami is another potential major lucky break.

All things considered... I still dont' really see Boston as a contender (as in, I think Lakers would destroy them with their size and I don't see the Celtics anywhere near the level of the SPurs or Thunder).  KG and KG alone is making me believe the impossible is possible, but I am not really going to sweat a couple losses against the mediocre Philly team.  THey owned us in the regular season too.  *shrug*.  Is what it is.

It should have been.

That it wasn't is a pretty strong signal that we haven't seen the last of Jump Shot and Dribble Offense.

And then you see the ball walked up the floor and pounded deep into the shot clock, you see jump shot after jump shot, you see a team get into the penalty with 9 minutes left and give up a whopping two foul shots because nobody's going to the rim, and you realize again that the Banner thing is all a delusion.

Absolutely a delusion when you're not intelligent enough as a basketball team to do the basic things that blew out your opponent two days earlier.

Championships aren't gifted in this league, they are earned by teams that have a plan, stick to it and execute it.

None of that happened tonight in a performance that was a duplication of Game 2.

This team is NOT winning a title until someone figures out that it wins only by attacking the rim, moving the basketball and pushing the pace. Tonight was a vivid reminder - again - that the people with the keys to this offense still haven't gotten that through their thick heads.

But I cannot count them out of the running just because of this collapse, though.

Trust me - I was just as shocked during class tonight as you all were, lol....except I could only check the scores every 50 min or so.

Imagine what my shock level was. I'm almost afraid to watch the replay.

   more than i ever saw before rondo is key
i dont think the Celtic's are coasting~when rondo falls off even a lil bit the circuit is broken
  and the team starts shuttin down.

Rondo's the guy with the first set of keys to the offense. I know he's infallible in the eyes of most posters here, and he's certainly not the sole reason the game was lost, but when he plays passively like this, walking the ball up the floor and stopping the basketball, this team's in big trouble.

Unless someone else picks up the ball and starts attacking in his stead, which didn't happen tonight until late.

Doc is right: This team has no margin for error, certainly not enough to make up for the woeful, lazy offense we rolled out there for three quarters tonight.
