You really think he was worrying about that record and not just worrying about winning games?  I sure dont'.

I thought they only counted regular season games.

They do. Its only a regular season record, he can still get it starting off next year.

Who cares. The only stat that matters is Ws.

Rondo's the man and had a very good series. His defense tonight was suffocating.

The last two games Teague played Rondo tight and didn't sag off him and that caused Rondo a bit of problems offensively.

But lets not fool ourselves over who turned this game around during that 16-0 run. that was all Rondo setting the pace and doing what he does.

This team is hurting and needs to play at a slow pace because of the amount of injured players playing at less than 100% speed. That hinders Rondo's game.

  Because we weren't winning games when he got assists?

Rondo makes some idiotic pass attempts and passes up open shots, often layups, for them. I'm sure his priority is winning games, and I'm a big Rondo fan, but he does drive me nuts when he passes up open layups for dumb passes, and I think getting another assist or 2 factors into it. Then again, not having to shoot free throws also factors into it.

  By the way, much of the time when Rondo gets fouled he throws the ball towards the basket and tries to get free throws from the play. Why would he do that on a regular basis if he was avoiding the line?

I'm glad it's gone, personally. I always think things like that are distractions.

literally once a game Rondo passes up a wide open layup so that he can throw the ball out of bounds.  That's not hyperbole.  I've seen him do it like 7 games in a row.  There's at least one play where Rondo drives in, beats his man, has a completely open lane... and tosses it away (usually it's a turnover) to which the announcer goes, "oh Rondo had a layup... he should have taken it".

I don't know if that has anything to do with his assist streak... but if it is, hopefully that puts an end to his "bonehead play of the game" streak.

  Did you see him do it in the 16 assist/1 turnover game? Because I'm guessing that it was hyperbole.

  A lot of his "open layups start out open when he's driving but end up with a big ready to challenge the shot.
