#Hawks F Josh Smith has patellar tendonitis. Inflammation in area but no structural damage. Doubtful GM 3, probable GM 4 vs. BOS

If he really can't go or is hobbled at all in this series it will be difficult for Atlanta to win another game in this series.

When he's off the court the Hawks have been bad, they'll have to go super small if they want to score at all on the C's.

Even if he plays in game 4, with a strained patella ligament his knee is going to be sore as hell by the third quarter.

I hope the players don't take them lightly and are thinking this way, but you guys are right they might be done. And with all our injuries we have dealt with cant say I feel too bad for them.

The C's can obviously still put up an awful game and lose one, but Smith has been the key to their attack on the C's defense and offense.

He's their best defender, rebounder, and most disruptive offensively. Both in the half court and transition, this is despite his awful long jump shooting.

Joe Johnson, Tracy McGrady, and Marvin Williams would all have to step up big time. Maybe Teague too, but he's very trick or treat for them.

That would be a major loss for Atlanta. Their big man rotation is very weak without Josh Smith (and without Al Horford and without Zaza Pachulia).

Game three should be a blowout win if Josh Smith is not around.
