This guy deserves his own thread.

Have we ever had a Celtic more consistent and drama free in the Big 3 era?

This guy is a beast. His trade was realatively under the radar at first. He does very well and is very consistent as our 6th man to begin the year, then Wilcox and JO go down, and Bass is thrust into the starting lineup. His numbers improve, and hes still consistent! Has he ever had a bad game? I dont recall him having one.

Effectively we traded an out of shape, drama magnet, inconsitent bench player, for an athletic, consistent, drama-free starter.

His defense which was a question mark at the beginning of the season has improved as well, and overall hes just been a really great pickup for us.

Probably deserves some consideration for MIP.

There really is nothing bad to say about him considering contract, cost of acquiring, and expectations. One of DA's best trade pickups.

He only does a couple things really well, but he works hard and he doesn't complain. I really hope that we can hang on to him for next season.

While we're on the subject of Bass, one thing that's really been a huge upgrade over BBD is his ability to dunk the ball in traffic.  How many times over Baby's 4 years here could he not finish because he was too fat to actually throw it down?  

Just another reason Bass is such a breath of fresh air.

I, like most of us, feel we got a steal in the BB for GD trade.  Bass has been super consistent the whole year.  Love his effort and hustle and his 15-18' J around the elbow.  He is getting better at the C's def schemes.  Nice to have an athletic big guy who can finish around the rim.  He has made a nice adjustment to the starting lineup, but I feel he could be a great 6th man if we we able to get a better free agent 4/5.

I am all in on trying to bring him back next year.  He has earned a lot of respect this year.  Hopefully he has earned a decent deal (2 years @ 5-6 mil a year?) from DA.   Maybe that is too much, not sure.

Hopefully a better training camp can help him improve on the d rotations.

I saw a stat on Bass that he's 9th in the league in opposing player points allowed, that's awesome wether you hate stats or not.

Bass has been a steal, a great find—WAY better shooter than Baby, better rebounder than Baby, more athletic than Baby (though Baby was pretty athletic for his build), stronger finisher than Baby, can actually dunk, hardly ever gets blocked, and isn't the defensive liability some thought he'd be. Plus he came cheap. Hope we bring him back for multiple years at a reasonable rate.

Nice. 

But our ability to finish this year has really helped over this year and with Shaq last year.  The C's might've broken the Bulls wins record in '07-08 if Perk and BBD could've finished around the rim.

I don't know how anyone let Brandon Bass go.  Dallas!  Orlando!
Clearly, he has been a great addition to this team.  He's made us forget about David West!
 :D He has logged more meaningful minutes in this short season than we ever got out of Shaq or Jermaine O'Neal.  He is our best acquistion since Posey.  
I cannot for the life of me understand how he was misused in Orlando. I think a great deal had to do with their style of play.

Brandon shoulld re-up with the Celtics.  He should sign an extension that boosts his salary incrementally for the next two years.

Sometimes when you find a home, you need to simply understand your place in space and time.

He has been one of the most undersold trade pickups ever. This guy is an absolute monster, capable of scoring at a level on par with almost any top scorer on the team. His consistency with his jump shot is just unbelievable, and his defense has improved significantly.

This is a guy with a good attitude, it seems, and gives it his all. I still remember Bass from back in 2010 playoffs against the Magic. When he came into the game, he was giving us all sorts of trouble, more than even Dwight was.

Orlando traded Bass because they had a significantly better power forward ahead of him and wanted to get some value for him before he walked as a free agent in search of a place where he could have a bigger role.  Their problem was thinking that overpaying Glen Davis was a good return.

I think Dallas let Bass go because they weren't expecting Orlando to match their offer sheet for Marcin Gortat.  I think Orlando signed Bass while the offer sheet was still pending.

Bass was actually a Hornet for two seasons before he played in Dallas.  I'm not sure why they didn't keep him around.

Bass is probably best suited to being a reserve PF off the bench who can play some center and can pinch-hit as a starter but shouldn't be any team's long-term solution as a starter.  He should probably be looking for a four-year deal that pays him at a level appropriate for someone expected to play 30+ mpg.  Chuck Hayes got 4 years and $22.4m from Sacramento, but the Kings tend to be stupid.

TP.  His consistency and the way he just goes about his business quietly and professionally have been a breath of fresh air. 

I'm very glad that Brandon Bass is a Celtic.
