Kris Humphries - Would he fit?

He's unrestricted after this season. I think he would be the right fit at the right price..3-4 years $9M perhaps. Would help the Cs rebounding problem tremendously. This would be in addition to re-signing KG of course. Would love to see KG finish out his career at center but we all know how he feels about that.

Thoughts? Would you trust signing someone like Humphries with the off the court stuff he has going on? Having a big year, though for a bad team.

I haven’t watched enough Nets games to know about his game.
But my fear is that he looks better than what he actually is because he is playing for a terrible team.

Humphries is the sort of role player that badly-run teams hand out long, big contracts to.

Sign Joey Dorsey instead. He'll give you the same rebounding with less offense and more defense ... and he'll do it for a minimum contract.

I would have loved to have seen Joey Dorsey on this year's Celtics team alongside KG with Garnett at the five. His physical defense and rebounding at the four would have been a very nice combination with Garnett's highly skilled offensive play and (more finesse type of) defense at the five.

role polayer, no way a smart nba gm gives him anything over 5 or 6 mil. Humpheries is basically just a beast rebounder with size, not a really good offensive or defensive player.

Drew Gordon is a beast rebounder and can likely be had with a 2nd rd pick for about 1 mil per year.

Excellent point. I was very surprised to see Dorsey not make a team this year. You'd think someone with his motor would always have a spot in this league.

I tend to think the bigger mistake teams will make is giving Humphries too many years rather than giving him too much money per year.

I agree, if he wanted to take a discount to be with a contending team and show he's not just a garbage time player he would be great for us. So would Ilysova from Milwaukee. We need someone who crashes the boards hard, can finish inside (it would be a plus if he could also shoot) but I think the guys like that, who are available end up being too rich for our blood (overpaid by another team).

Too bad there aren't any pure rebounders like Faried in this years class.

He can date someone really dumb & possibly show the entire world that he may be just as dumb if not dumber.....

Honestly there are players in the NBA with much worse character concerns than being on a reality show while dating a celebrity.  He plays hard for an awful team, and crashes the boards in a way that would really help us.

Giving out long term role player contracts without having your stars in place is how you end up like the Pistons and Golden State (Ben Gordon, Charlie V, Andris Biedris etc.) Besides, with Bass and next year possibly KG back at the 4, I think we're set. Biggest offseason targets are going to be legit centers like Spencer Hawes and Roy Hibbert, and a staring 2 guard if Ray-Ray decides to leave (Eric Gordon doesn't seem happy in NOH, they might not match a decent offer)
