That trade will go down as one of the best deals Danny Ainge ever made.

Glen Davis SUCKS and has an absolute negative effect of everything he touches.

Never liked Obese.  I sure beat a dead (fat) horse with that one.  Maybe I was delusional, but even when he was playing well I was unimpressed.  His best stretches came while playing with Ray, Pierce and Rondo.  He'd hit some open shots (sometimes), play subpar defense, and underperform on the boards.  You remember the year he filled in for KG during the playoffs.  I'm not naming names and this isn't directly pointed at anyone in particular so as not to offend anyone, but I was lead to believe that some folks (who were completely within the right to believe such things) felt Obese was a substantial replacement for Kevin Garnett.  Call me crazy, but I felt the difference between the two players starting was that while KG would make his teammates better... Glen Davis was better because of his teammates.   Again, I am deeply sorry if anyone was offended by that observation.

Glen Davis should ask himself in 90% of situations "Am I better off shutting my mouth" ..
Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

Big Baby is a way better defender than Bass.  I think he has quicker feet too, which is absurd given his girth.  But think about it, Baby has nobody to keep him in check in Orlando; his nickname is Big Baby for cryin outloud.. what do you really expect from a guy with Baby in his nickname..

He needs guidance.  And he had that here in Boston.  How quick ppl forget all the games he won for us.. The millions of charges he took for us??? The Shrek and Donkey show anybody??? Playoff Buzzer Beater in Orlando??? Taking over for KG when he went down???  Guarding Dwight Howard like he was 7 feet tall??? Knocking over that stupid lil Floridian kid??? Really guys?!!?

Too many memories with Baby for you guys to be bashing him like this... and honestly, Bass isn't much of an upgrade offensively and he's a downgrade defensively..  Much love to Baby... even if he is a knucklehead... he was OUR knucklehead.. Heck... he's still our knucklehead at heart.. #ForeverCeltic

C'mon man lets get real here and put sentimentality aside for a second.

This guy is fat. There is no ifs or buts about it. He obviously puts very little effort into being a professional athlete.

This guy is getting 6 million per for:
21 minutes /  7 points / No assists / 5 rebounds / No blocks / 38% shooting (He was as low as 34% a few weeks ago)

It got to a point that Orlando's home fans would boo baby whenever he attempted one of his brick 20 footers.

This guy has clashed with his new coach, NBA fans, and referees on several occasions this year in an embarrassing manner. I could honestly list 4 or 5 different occasions where baby has acted like a complete clown this year.

The fact that he was traded for a guy who:

1. Is athletic
2. Is about 4 million this year and nowhere near the contract length.
3. 30 minutes /  12 points / 1 assist / 6 rebounds / 1 block / 48% shooting

just rubs salt into the wound for him.

You come to the conclusion that this Boston Celtics team of the past few years made Glen look waaaaaay better than he actually was, and you regret not having Bass in the years when this team was far stronger.

Valid points.. Im not saying he doesn't suck now, cuz he obviously sucks this year.. but think about how much he did for Boston before you try to make it seem like he was always a terrible player.

I believe in Big Baby.. I just think he needs guidance to be at his best and hes certainly not getting it in Orlando.. Put Big Baby on the Heat and I think he's a much different player.  Orlando is a joke, Dwight Howard is not a leader, SVD is Hitler.. And Big Baby is just playing along IMO.

Don't try to make it seem like he wasn't an integral part on Championship team.. Cuz he had a lot to do with that shiny 2008 championship ring he got..

This has GOT to be the funniest statement I've read reading this post. Awww, Baby needs guidance to be at his best and he's just not getting it in Orlando...awwww, maybe he shouldn't have been trying to get paid more than he's worth while he was here in Boston then his "protectors" could have kept him in line  ::) ::)

It infuriates me that these "professional" athletes that make more money than most would make in a lifetime would need "guidance" to behave like grown men. The only things Baby about baby is his name and his attitude towards life. He doesn't need guidance, he needs a REAL JOB and let's see if he would need guidance to drive to work from 9-5! People make excuses for these ill-equipped MEN when in reality, they should be responsible for THEMSELVES!!

I bet you he doesn't need "guidance" getting to the ATM to withdraw to boat load of dough he makes each game!

Well, this also certainly shows the effect KG and the other vets have on people.  Not to say BBD was perfect when he was here, but it was never this bad.

It also goes to show why even someone like Ryan Hollins is doing a little better here than in Cleveland (though by no means am I claiming a Renaissance for him).

This.

I can't hate on the man at all...he had good times here. With the turmoil in ORL this season, I can't blame the man.

Sure Howard wanted to go and still probably wants to but that's not a team in turmoil at all. Baby gets overpaid to play on a 3rd seed team that lives off jump shots and he plays next to a seven foot tall freak of nature.

Sometimes I just wish I was over 6 feet 5 tall.

Baby is not the best example. He did have a really tough childhood and he has his own demons to deal with, even now (I'm pretty sure emotionally it was quite the ride, probably contributed to his weight). Guess he's earning his paycheck now (kind of).

But seriously, when you look at guys like Hasheem Thabeet and Eddy Curry...what a waste of an opportunity. Especially when you consider the fact that they're good sized big men with natural gifts.

Money can change you, really.
