Celts will get Ryan Hollins if he clears waivers, according to source who may or may not have missed out on him (he wouldn't say).

Doc mentioned a big with beef yesterday, there must be another signing coming

The only beefy big guys are Diaw,Sheed and Fesenko. Sheed makes the most sense if he is in any kind of decent shape , gives us length and low post play at both ends, already knows the system.

Okay, now we sign Fesenko and we'll be unstoppable.

I am fine with Hollins as the energy/depth guy, but I think Danny still needs to try to sign a guy who has a chance to actually make an impact.  That would be a Diaw/Kaman/Sheed type signing.

I have no doubt Sheed would have an impact, I'm just not sure it would be a positive one.  :P

Ainge continues his fetish for bigs that don't rebound

Same thing with Diaw.  But at this point, I would roll the dice.  Either they help them make some noise in the playoffs, or they jumpstart the tanking process.  Win-win.

I don't think we had much of a choice.

What's the bet that this is the only signing?

to be honest, while a bigger name its not like Ronny Turiaf is that much better at rebounding/scoring.

90% of the time these 'buyout cantidates" end up having little impact (see troy murphy) because they are out ofr shape from sitting on a bench and not plying the whole year.

Hollins at least has youth going for him, so I expect that he could contribute right away without having to 'get in basketball shape"

Danny's scraping the bottom of the barrel here.  I think the odds of finding someone you can plug into the rotation at this point are slim and none.  It's too bad because I think this team is a rebounder away from making some noise in the playoffs.
