At this point, I really don't understand D12's deal...

So he wants out of Orlando... thats been known fact for months now... however, at this point I really don't understand his logic.

Lets see. the magic are the 3rd seed in the east... have a 28-15 record or something like that (too lazy to check). After tonight they've beaten the heat twice this season.  He wants to win a championship, and thats his rational behind wanting to leave... so he wants to leave that for a team like...the nets?

They have one player in deron williams, and everyone is claiming that this is rational behind going to the nets? sure the magic aren't great at the pg position but still, they have a better overall constructed team than the nets.and even if they move to brooklyn, its not like orlandos a small market or anything and its a nice location... he's got a better shot at winning in orlando than new jersey

Sure you can also argue that maybe d12 is sick of being the best player on his team and wants to be on part of a big 3 or whatever, ok... but wait... then he's interviewed saying he WANTS to be the best player on his team and be the go to guy (which he is in orlando).

So what the hells the deal with this guy? Is he so delusional about winning a championship that he doesnt realize that if he shut his mouth and played with his current team that hes basically king of they could have a shot at it this year? 3rd seed in the east, seriously... its not like hes on the bobcats here.

Just some food for thought as people constantly talk about d12 being traded

Apparently he wants to expand his "Brand".

He's trying to do this by moving to a bigger market.

Most star players aren't asking to be traded when they are one of the top teams in the league

The Orlando Magic are a strange team...

Yes, they are the current 3rd seed in the East but they still are not contenders for the title. Stan Van Gundy is a head case, and Otis Smith seems determined to ruin that franchise. He hands out some of the worst contracts I've ever seen. The Orlando Magic are not a threat to anybody's championship dreams. They can win games, sure. But serious contenders for the title? Nah.

I'm hoping we can capture the 6th seed so we can play them in the first round. It will be a fun series that I see us winning.

That Orlando team would win around 20 games without Dwight Howard on the team.

He just wants some help. Teammates who'll allow him to truly compete for a title.

Orlando honestly built that team in the worst possible way...I could never understand the concept of just having a bunch of guys who sit around the 3point line and chuck up shots all day

they win alot of games because of their defense, and they have alot of 3point shooters...but the MO when the playoffs come is play D12 1 on 1 and close out on their shooters

well to be honest d12 himself is the culprit behind the 3 point shooters... he draws in the defense and opens up his teammates for shots on the perimeter. Therefore thats how it was built around him.

Could they use a few better pieces to surround him with? Sure, but I'd honestly venture to say he'd win less games on a team like the nets

The system is designed around (1) Dwight's Howard interior play (2) dribble penetration and playmaking from the perimeter (3) shooters to space the floor.

The problem is Orlando doesn't have enough dribble penetration and doesn't have the trade assets to fix the problem.

Nothing wrong with the system. Just not enough talent there to make it work.

Dwight wants everything.

He wants the money but that's not a problem for sure.

He wants to win without trying.

He wants to be his own man and not follow Shaq's footsteps...but isn't he doing that right now?

He wants to leave beautiful Florida to live in the armpit of the USA...New Jersey.  Dumb by me, but my whole world is not driven by every dollar I can make....  

Why ...$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ really simple ...all about  MONEY

He wants "THE " biggest shoe contract and he needs to represent the market area with largest potential .  NY -NJ city area.

He wants to sell his Logo /brands tennis shoes and T-shirts to getto kids. And there are more kids there than any where else.... LA giant childrens market is taken , so is Chicago...so that leaves NYC to plunder.  Sorta like a giant Ronald McDonald .

Nike and their kind , ect will pay more for him to sell their product in  the biggest city market possible.  His laywers will love it too... ::)  

Howard is  "ALL ABOUT MONEY " don't doubt that for a minute...he could win championships in at least 6 other cities easier. He wants the BIG CITY tennis shoe money...

He wants to be the Oprah Winfrey of Basketball.

I'll admit it's because of all the superteam bullcrap that's been happening lately, gets me a bit upset.

Not like it's unprecedented but (maybe because of the internet) these [dang] rumors just feels so blown up now.

Maybe he wants to be surrounded by players that can help him win a title

Maybe he prefers living in a real metropolitan area like NY or Los Angeles vs. one built around Mickey Mouse.

Maybe he is losing his hearing from all the constant screaming by his enlightened head coach

Maybe he is tired of ownership constantly making all the wrong decisions

Maybe he just wants a change of pace.

Personally, If I was given a choice of places to live out of Los Angeles, NYC area, Boston, Dallas, Chicago, Miami and Orlando..I know what place would be at the bottom of the list. Orlando. That town does not offer a ton of culture. It is filled non stop with tourists. Most things close at 10pm. It is  humid like hell and there is no ocean surrounding it. Culturally it is at the bottom of the list as well. The restaurants cannot hold a candle to the larger cities. Both of my grandparents lived in Florida and I have been to that state too many times to remember. My least favorite city was Orlando. It is my personal opinion but I can completely understand what is going through Dwight's mind.

Winning, better environment both within work and outside of work, Being able to choose his own destiny and at the end of the day, being happy. If he is not happy, he should not be forced to stay in a place that does not suit him. Being a King is Sandbox surrounded by no ocean is no different than being a Peasant in a Kingdom surrounded by gold- both parties are miserable in the end.
