  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
We should get at least 3 wins against GS, Sac, Milwaukee.

I expect a loss against the Clippers, but Atlanta, Philly, and Denver could all go either way.

I'd say 4 wins and 4 losses is the most likely outcome considering how this teams been playing.

TP...this seems like the most reasonable way to look at things. We just barely lost to a team that hit everything down the stretch. 0-8, are you guys crazy?

The problem, inherently, is that the Celtics continue to lose against any reasonably capable team due to some factor down the stretch, primarily because they are a deeply flawed team.

Was 0-8 a bit reactionary and daft? Sure it was, but I'd rather they just go down the path of the Colts and suck for better draft positioning.

0-8

I admire the fight in this team in spite of the lack of talent, but it is rather mediocre and I'd rather they just lose all these games and miss the playoffs for a better draft position.

For gods sake Danny, get us an athletic center and some players who can penetrate and score in the paint.

This season is in vain.

I mean, really?  The Celtics lost by 3 in the last seconds to a 25-16 team that was 17-2 at home (read: nearly unbeatable) and now they are going to go 0-8, losing to the Sacramento Kings??

If anyone is honest on this board and thinks the Lakers are at least borderline contenders, you cannot come away from today's game saying anything less than the Celtics are just as good.

If they play like they did today for half the games on this road trip, they will be over .500.

4 and 4 would be a relief based on our age and travel time. Lets see what happens.

After going 2 out of 3 with LA teams and Portland, the schedule (team-wise) gets pretty reasonable.

To close the month out:
@ Golden State
@ Sacramento
@ Denver
@ Atlanta
@ Milwaukee
@ Philadelphia
v. Washington
@ Charlotte
v. Utah
@ Minnesota

How many of those teams legitimately scare you? We get Sacramento and Denver back-to-back, which is tough to go all the way from Cali to Denver and play the next day. Milwaukee and Philly are back-to-back but after two full days off. Washington and Charlotte are back-to-back but they're...two of the worst teams in the NBA.

We'll probably screw up here and there, but this is a prime stretch for us to actually take advantage of opponents and go on a run. April is going to be insane, as our first 7 opponents are Miami, San Antonio, Chicago, Indiana, Philly, Miami, Atlanta. If we take care of business the rest of this month, then we are in pretty good shape heading into that deadly stretch.
2023 Historical Draft: Toronto Raptors

Point Guard: Anfernee Hardaway, Fat Lever, Terrell Brandon
Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey
Small Forward: Marques Johnson, Danny Granger
Power Forward: Jermaine O'Neal, Bobby Jones, Kiki Vandeweghe
Center: Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka

I think we should have Golden state's measure. I agree with you about the boards but thats been happening all year and we still manage to win games.

Why are so many people here rooting against the Celts? 0-8? 1-7? Even 2-6. Based on our record and our opponents, any of those would mean that we're playing worse than we have throughout the season. We're currently playing much better than we have throughout the season.

If you check out our opponents' schedules, a lot of them are coming playing us as their 2nd game on back to back nights. And we're as good as anyone we're going up against.

I don't understand why people don't want to admit this, but we're a pretty good team.
