This is probably a really stupid question.  Did Ray Ray turn down an offer to compete in this??  He is shooting a higher percentage this year from long range than any of the guys competing .

Thanks for the info.

I don't think he had any interest in competing.  It's a silly competition, anyway.

Guys with as many ASG appearances as Ray aren't going to enter the 3pt contest unless they are in the ASG.

So, shooting the highest percentage of ANYONE in the league taking at least 4 attempts per game doesn't matter?????

I'm sure the NBA would have liked him there, but Ray declined to participate so he could have some time off.

I'm sure he'd rather make up the time he's losing with his family due to the condensed season.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

As I said, guys of his caliber usually only go to all-star weekend if they are playing in the big game. They don't have an interest in being in part of the side show.

It doesnt matter how many points a player scores if the team cant win. Right. So it really matter if Ray is the best and most efficient scorer in the history of the game. The team is 15-17. Good for ray, but at the end of the day, it is still a team sport. Now you can disagree with me all you want; it wont change that we are an average team  at best.

I'm sure he was asked. But Ray said he would not be doing the 3 point contest if he wasn't in the ASG so....there you have it.

I understand why he declined.
