Since the Draft Board and the General Discussion thread got merged into one, we're starting a new thread for discussion of individual teams, team needs, etc.

I'll start with Redz' team:

PG - Brandon Knight / Jarrett Jack
SG - Gerald Henderson / Gary Neal / Martell Webster
SF - Grant Hill / Francisco Garcia / Jan Vesely
PF - Greg Monroe / Channing Frye / DJ White
C  - DeMarcus Cousins / Larry Sanders

Thoughts?  What did people think of the Jimmer for Neal (and Leuer for White) trade?  What positions should be targeted in the 10th and 11th?

EDIT:  Finished drafting.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I think Redz should've taken a young big and traded the other for a complementary (in attitude as well as skillset) piece.

I'd like a markieff morris/Monroe frontcourt more than cousins/Monroe. That's just me.

I think the rest of the team is very symmetrical. Not spectacular, but well constructed.

Still big improvement over the pistons.

Yeah, from my perspective, I agree to a certain extent.  I absolutely do not think that Markieff Morris would be a better fit than Cousins, due to the talent disparity.  However, I do agree that I'm not in love with the fit of Monroe and Cousins.  I think they'd get in each other's way, and would clog the lane a bit.

That said, how many other young bigs are as productive as those two?  If Redz hires a good coaching staff, I'm sure they will find some way to make it work.

I love the backcourt, and the five man big rotation is one of the league's best.  Small forward is a bit of a weakness, though, especially with Hill retiring in a year or two and nobody immediately apparent to fill his slot.

Well, I'm probably not adding much here, but I like the frontcourt and Brandon Knight very much and think that shooting guard and small foward are weak spots, especially since Henderson and Hill are having very bad seasons and Hill probably isnt going to get much better.  That being said, there's a lot of young talent.

I'd make Monroe & Cousins spend 5 hours a day watching Old Kings tapes.

What do you mean by Henderson having a very bad season?  He's averaging 15 points per game with 5 rebounds and 2 assists and is shooting 46% from the field.

Charlotte sucks, but Henderson has been a nice player for them.  Did you mean Garcia, maybe?  If so, yeah, he's not getting time in Sacramento as they go with younger guys.  They've got a lot of wings on that team (Evans, Thornton, Salmons, Greene, Outlaw, etc.)

Hmm, I was just going off what I read from basketball reference (they say he's slightly below average offensively and absolutely horrible defensively).  I've never seen Henderson play.

Odd. Thought Henderson has always been regarded as a pretty great defensive player.

How about the Cavs?

PG: Kyrie Irving / Chauncey Billups
SG: Landry Fields / George Hill
SF: Luol Deng / Jeff Green
PF: Kris Humphries / Brandon Bass
C: Andrew Bynum / Nenad Krstic / Matt Bonner

Thoughts?  How far can this team go this year?  Can it contend next year?  Who should we target with 10.1?

It's weird that a franchise's future hinges on how good Jan Vesey turns out to be, but that's the case here. Henderson hit's his ceiling at solid starter, Brandon Knight may be good he may not be but it doesn't really matter and Cousins and Monroe is a great two headed beast but they need a wing scorer. If that's Vesley then the whole dang league is in trouble.

Rough this year, lack of a bench will hurt. 4 players may missing games right now 3 of whom are missing the rest of the season. On the plus side that lands you in the lottery and you can nab a star SG for next year and then be absolutely destructive next year.

Well i'll put me up there too:

PG) Lowry
Sg) Rush
Sf) prince
PF) Millsap
C) Howard

Key bench Ridnour, k Thompson, c brewer, p patterson

3 picks tomm

I plan on playing rush and Thompson about 20 mins a piece on the 2, and giving ridnour some time there as well.
