Very limited minutes to try to base anything off of here.  I like him for the most part, some pretty bad decision making at times but that's to be expected from a rook

Everyone looks better PER 36 it's pretty unreliable.

Truer words were never spoken. An especially meaningless stat for guys who have hardly played any minutes in games where it mattered.

He must have played close to half his minutes in the Memphis and Chicago games. Didn't those minutes matter?

As for his defense and rebounding, I don't think you can really make a good judgement for a year or two. He's a rookie and there was a lockout the entire offseason. Give him a summer or two with the strength and conditioning guys and we'll see what we have, and whether he still gets pushed around or not.

My point stands. He has played 100 minutes total all year. If he continues to be fairly solid over the next several weeks with no KG and Bass, then in my opinion we will have a developing story.

JuJuan Johnson:

Offense
1. Good Jump Shot
2. Potential for good low post with left and right hands
* Had a very nice lefty put back in the lane against Chicago...
3. Decent passer
4. At least gets after a little on the offensive glass

Defense:
1. Cat quick laterally - great for help D, rotations, etc.
2. Very long around the rim - excellent for challenging shots
3. Great leaper and a quick leaper - also good for challenging shots
4. Appears focused and bright - so once rotations become like the back of his hand, he could become a "very" good defender.
5. Lacks strength - right now - to really bang in the post, but he's not afraid of contact.

He actually did not get abused by Noah, Boozer or Gasol anymore than anyone else on the court normally does. He got backed down but his length still affected shots.

Intangibles:
1. Really flys up and down the court for a big man.
2. Great motor - runs hard, gets down on D, multiple jumps for boards - all of this bodes well for a big man.
3. While very thin, bench pressed 300+ pounds in the combines - one of the highest. So he must be wiry strong.
4. Again, seems smart, aggressive and focused -

Conclusion:
1. If he can successfully add 20-25 pounds of combined upper and lower body muscle and strength - you could possibly have 18-20+ and 7-8 board guy with a couple blocks and some great overall defense.

This will probably take until the beginning of year three.

I think he definitely has Horace Grant written on him, but with "much" better offensive game. The main question is simply can he add that 20-25 pounds of muscle and then apply if to the defensive side of the ball and rebounding.

if so, we have our long term starter replacement at PF and I'd like to add that with his outside game and ability to run the floor, he would be an ideal fit next to Dwight Howard or any other center with a good low post presence.
