great news for us.
Our chances of going 4-5 spots higher in the draft just increased dramatically.

Why? Billups being out won't affect the Clippers much. They still have Mo Williams

With Billups done, hopefully the Clippers will show more interest in trading fro Paul Pierce.

Any chance they part with DeAndre Jordan??

Yeah he does little things to make them better on the floor and can control games winning a playoff game or two for them but don't think record wise he is going to matter a whole lot

Good timing for Eric Bledsoe. He's just working his way back from knee surgery, he may get some decent playing time and help fill the voide

A) he is their starting shooting guard.
B) Chauncey is already short for a 2 guard,he is taller than Mo (who is listed at 6 feet 1, but is more like barely 6 foot), much harder to guard for opposing 2 guards come play off time and vice versa. Mo is quicker, but it won't count for much against players like Durant, Kobe, Batum in the WC playoffs.
Losing that size and shooting is going to hurt them.
Mo can go on hot streaks but Chauncey is who they wanted.

Teams will target any match up at the 2 spot now and just back Mo down or shoot right over him.
Terrible for the Clipps.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I actually think they start Foye and keep Mo as the 1st guard off the bench.  Foye is much more capable of guarding the bigger SG's and he is a pretty decent shooter (very similar to Billups this season).  Frankly they won't lose much in the starting lineup except for the championship experience Billups brings and with Bledsoe coming back as the 4th guard, they won't lose much in the backcourt overall.

The Clippers problems are on the inside as they are very very thin down low.

I strongly disagree with this.  Besides his almost 15 points, 30 minutes per game, this talented young team will desperately miss his veteran leadership.  Having Chauncey is like having a coach on the floor.  He knows what it takes to win, he has been there before, and he is a good mentor...

He can be a good mentor off the floor too. And you mean 15 points in 36% shooting? Not sure they'll miss that. For that matter, the comment above was about in-season wins and how it'll affect the draft. If we're talking about impact in the playoffs, that's another thing. But as far as performance during the season, his impact will be minimal and frankly easily replaced. Plus, they got Chris Paul there, though young, not a newbie... he's been to the playoffs, he knows what it takes, they follow his lead.

JR Smith just topped their list of targets. JR could step right in at the 2 and start.

SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

I think Chauncey will be a pretty big loss simply because they have got no-one else there who can play significant minutes at the two.

Chauncey is not a particularly good two guard but he is decent and that is a darn sight better than their other available options.

Sad news for Chauncey and the Clippers, but I agree that it does help the Cs. I think Chauncey provides much needed leadership for a young team.
Celtics fan for life.

Yeah, sorry..you are correct.  I was talking about the playoffs.  As far as Chris Paul being a team leader, I like this young team, and I hope so, but like Charles Barkley has said, and I agree with, there are not enought veteran mentors (both on and off the court) guiding these young players.

My first thought as well.  The downgrade from Billups to Foye is significant.  The more Foye and Gomes play, the better that pick starts to look.

On the other hand, if they get J.R. Smith, they might not miss a beat.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

ha ha ha...I like Danny Ainge.  I am not trying to be snide, but  comically, it seems that the worse the pick, the greater Danny's chance of finding a gem.
