NBA refs stink. There is no doubt to this fact.
Still, here's the problem I have always had with players, coaches, GM's, owners, etc.. complaining to the media about it. It generally just comes across as whining. The complaining almost always is preceeded by a loss in a tough game.
Now, in specific relation to Mark Cuban, the problem I have with his public comments is this. You are 1 of 30 NBA owners. You are the one person in a position of power to actually do something about it if you don't like it. If Cuban really feels this strongly about the state of officiating, he needs to pursuade his partners (the other 29 owners) to force Stern to do something. They are ultimately Stern's boss, not the other way around. By the owners not doing anything about it, they are essentially endorsing the staus quo as acceptable.
