I think that Ray has plenty left in the tank to start.
Bringing in Pietrus and Bass should be plenty and it shouldn't matter who starts.
Ray isn't the reason for their points inside- he doesn't get burned as one topic suggested, he just looks slower.
And the reason we got killed on those pick and rolls is because of Bass- he had no idea what was going on.

Some food for thought: I think they were intending to start Jeff Green over Ray this year. Reason being is that Wyc (team owner) made reference to Green starting with Ray coming off the bench and how Green's injury/illness really put a screw in their plans and they had to re organize the roster.
He mentioned this on a recent broadcast with Tommy and Mike.
Jeff was gona start at shooting guard?

That's what Wyc was implying, yes. I don't know if it was certain or he would just suggesting it- but he said it so casually it seems like he expected it.
I don't know how much he would know about roster structure or how much Doc/Danny tell him what their plans are but it was quite a shock to hear it at the time.

Maybe someone else heard what I'm talking about and can give their take.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

well for whatever reason, the cavs had far too many easy looks down low. They killed us on pick and rolls.

They only scored 88 points! 88! They only hit 43% of their shots tonight. I'd take that sort of defensive performance 10 times out of 10.

Fewer than half the teams in the NBA are averaging 44% or better this year.  I think you're forgetting that shooting is off around the league, and what you'd take 10 out of 10 times is average at best.

Also, Cleveland is shooting 43% on the season, so they were right on their average.
